Hi

Just wanted to alert you all to latest promo email I received today from HH. Not a bad deal for me since I've got bookings in August in US for 3 weeks, all booked with eligible hotels taking part of the promo.

"Get to your next getaway three times faster with the Hilton HHonors™ Triple Your Trip promotion. Sign up and stay Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights to earn Triple HHonors Points from July 1 through September 30, 2012. And earn Double HHonors Points on Monday through Thursday at participating hotels and resorts"

There is also a handy FAQ section link regarding the promo within the link provided below.

Got it too. Is it for existing bookings? Or only new ones? Got a lot of Hilton stays in July already booked.

As per FAQ section, it is for all bookings including pre-existing that fall within the promo period. You just need to activate the offer before checking out of the hotel.
I've already activated mine, so I dont forget.

Good to see.

I have a 1 night say at Waldorf Rome already booked and I am also looking to book at 1 night stay at a Hilton in Paris. So could boost the balance.

I didn't get the email but I have registered. I don't stay fri through sun very often but I have quite a few bookings in that period...

I have registered:):
FAQ:Hilton HHonors - Triple Your Trip FAQ
From the FAQ, these are the 2 most relevant to my 10 night stay already booked, starting 30th June;
What if I already have a reservation, is it eligible for the promotion?
Yes, as long as the member is registered for the promotion prior to check-out of the stay and the reservation is for an eligible stay. Regardless of when a reservation was booked, any nights within the Promotion Period will receive the promotion bonus.

If I check-in before July 1, 2012 or check-out after September 30, 2012, do I still earn credit for that stay?
Registered HHonors members will receive a bonus only for the nights of an eligible stay completed during the Promotion Period, regardless of a check-in date before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date after the Promotion Period ends.

So, this offer only relates to the points and not the miles, yes? ie. Double Dip.

Not sure, but this was taken from the FAQ section for this promo

Do I have to change my Double Dip® Earnings Style Option in my HHonors account in order to receive Double and/or Triple Points for this
promotion?

No. However, to maximize the number of points you can earn during the promotion, selecting HHonors Points and HHonors Points would be
best.

I see the double or triple points are bonus points........which don't count toward status qualifying. I thought the Q3 promo was going to be additional base points??

Note the non-participating hotels too... ignoring the hundreds of US hotels, non-participating hotels of note to AFFers:

Parmelia Hilton Perth
Hilton Pattaya Thailand

And almost everything in London (unsurprisingly given Olympics are amid the promotional period!)

Hmm and guess where I am flying to next week... London... Although I only have one night in London and then five nights in Brighton...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Damn there goes two nights less points for London. I didn't see the list of hotels not eligible so thanks for posting it.
Well still 12 or so nights which will get points before August, so I'm pretty happy.

Triple points for Friday through Sundays are an incredible deal - I may find myself staying periodically at the Sydney Hilton (which I live near) just for the triple points! When used against NYC redemptions, this makes the stays a bargain!

Thanks for posting. Hmmm. Don't remember receiving the email although I have now registered.

And this now leads to another dilemma. I have 2 midweek stays, actually 3 but see below, in a couple of weeks. Continue to receive 1,000 VS miles or take a chance on additional ~5,000 Hhonors points by changing earning style. Perhaps I should change my earning style and earn additional Hhonors points and if I really want I can transfer to airline program later.

Note the non-participating hotels too... ignoring the hundreds of US hotels, non-participating hotels of note to AFFers:

Parmelia Hilton Perth
Hilton Pattaya Thailand
And Hilton Pattaya did not offer a complimentary upgrade to executive room as a Diamond when I booked either. :(

I still routinely run this on points and fixed miles for my stays.

With this promotion as a Diamond, with points and fixed miles, you're getting 35 HH points per US$1 on Fri-Sun, and 25 HH points per US$1 on Mon-Thu, plus your usual airline miles. If you go with "Points and points", then it's 40 HH points per US$1 spent. For me, it's probably worth staying with the points, or if you're having a long stay, considering moving over to "Points and Variable Miles" if you're spending up big per stay.

Thanks beardoc..very helpful post for me. I had been wondering what to do. (I collect points and fixed miles) My stays tend to be 1 or two nights so I think I might stay as I am.

OK. I haven't spent much time thinking about it and my stays are weekday stays only and cheap.

I think I got it wrong earlier. If normal stays accrue 10 HHonors per $1 and the "points and Points" option is an extra 5 Hhonors per $1 then it seems best to keep the 1000 VS miles earned per stay as that would give me 3,000 VS miles for 3 separate nights and ~AUD420 spend or an extra ~3,500 Hhonrs points using "point and points" option.
