Latest offer
Max is 18,000 bonus with 60K purchase and looks like AA now exclude new accounts from purchasing

"AAdvantage accounts less than 14 days old are not permitted to Buy, Share or Gift Miles. AAdvantage, buyAAmiles, giftAAmiles, shareAAmiles, buyAAmiles with Scissor Eagle design, giftAAmiles with Scissor Eagle design and shareAAmiles with Scissor Eagle design are trademarks of American Airlines, Inc."

More miles to buy! Now I know what the Scissor Eagle design is I don't know how I managed without it.

I would be signing up for US DM and making a small purchase pronto.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Don't forget this T&C: limited to a combined maximum of 60,000 miles per account, per calendar year. If you bought at the beginning of this calender year as I did, don't try it before 31 Dec. Unless someone knows another way in?

why? i signed up to USDM months ago, and did a 1,000 pt purchase but haven't had any targeted offers that have been discussed in the USDM thread.

back on topic - not as generous as last year's 50% bonus offer but still good value, particularly if you've not used last year's 90k points! if only they allowed 60k purchase and 60k gifted

Buying has shown to bait targeted offers for many, of the four accounts I mentor the one with activity last month was targeted this month, regardless signing up now gives you access to any general promo (one I expect will be due in Dec), its fair to say any USDM promo will leave AA in the dust on value given the merger of schemes next year.

If it's not too late I'll sign up for US DM now, but would appreciate a link plse, if not too late... Ok, realiee it's Us Airways, USDM didn't cut it.

Also bonus miles are excluded from this.

Totally underwhelming.

I was hoping for 90,000 miles in total. Was that on offer earlier this year?

And I am very pleased to say I took full advantage of it. For some reason I didn't take the Jan 2013 offer and Feb 2013 was much better.

Time seems to go way too slowly when it comes to the 12 month rule on buying AA points.
What I have found is AA has really good availability in First between Los Angeles and London so it is a good pick for a round the world link.

We took advantage of this promo as we already had some miles sitting in our accounts and needed a quick top up to grab 2 First Class award seats on QF to LHR which were showing up on the exact day we wanted.

Now waiting on a LifeMiles 2-for-1 promo to book the return on Thai, hoping to get the new A380 exCDG.

Looking to make a first booking next week but just realised IHG say it can take 4-6 weeks to transfer!

So if I purchase I am 2k short.
Whats the quickest way to get the 2k?

join SPG and buy than transfer, takes a week or so.

It's coming on 3rd December!

Yep and nervously watching Thai F inventory which is usually plentiful but seems somewhat inexplicably in short supply on the actual week we want to travel. Something, something Murphy's law...
