Langkawi advice please - hotels

Hi AFF!

Looking at taking what seems to be an awesome deal for a week at the St Regis Langkawi.

It is relatively new, but hoping someone has been there.

We mainly want to lounge by a pool for a solid five days (will be a relax trip).

I've read some reports the pool isn't that great. Does anyone know how it compares to other resorts on Langkawi?

How does the St Regis stack up against the Westin, the Andaman or even the Danna?

Any help is welcome and thanks in advance.

Stayed at the Andaman a few times now and its definitely a great place to relax. Only two resorts in Datai Bay, the other being the Datai which looked very nice too (had dinner and coughtails there as its next door to the Andaman). The Andaman has a great all inclusive deal every now and again so if you're travelling with kids then definitely worth considering. Westin doesn't have the best location in my opinion and I can't comment on St Regis unfortunately as haven't stayed there.
