I'm wondering what timeframes people have experienced for points to post after travelling on LAN, with an LA flight number?

I did the SYD-AKL-SYD status run at Easter and when the points hadn't credited after a week or so made a claim on the QF website. The website states that claims for airlines other than QF should take up to 14 working days. When 14 working days had passed I called QF, who advised that although it "normally" takes 14 days at the moment it was more like 4-6 weeks!
I'm soon approaching the 5 weeks after my claim mark and still have not received my points and status credits.

Ordinarily this wouldn't be such a problem but these LAN points and status credits will make me Gold and I have some QF Y flights coming up in a week - I would really like my Qlub access and better seat selection...

Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay and/or know if it's a QF or an LA problem?
What can I do if I don't get credited as Gold prior to my QF Y flights, if anything?

I did this flight for a NZ holiday 12 months ago...

As per other threads, the SYD-AKL credits posted immediately. I had to submit the BP for the AKL-SYD credits to be posted. IIRC this occurred in less than 14 days although, as mentioned, my experience was more than 12 months ago.

... hmmm must be due for this one again soon :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yep. It's a well-known problem, but one that no one seems to be in any rush to rectify. Kept me from qualifying for WP for a couple of weeks. Mind you, since there are problems with points posting promptly from QF's own subsidiary, I can see why LAN is pretty far down on the priority list.

What can I do if I don't get credited as Gold prior to my QF Y flights, if anything?

Nothing. This had happened to me before, so I was super prepared, submitted the missing points claim as soon as possible and emailed the FF service centre with my BPs immediately. Made no difference whatsoever and the points still took the same incredibly long period of time to post - in which time I had a number of flights booked for which I was not able to take advantage of my (now retrospective) WP status.

Based on advice from AFF, I called the FF hotline a number of times hoping they'd be able to expedite it, but was simply told that I'd have to wait but that they'd let me know as soon as it went through (as if I wouldn't have been checking regularly myself!).

All I can suggest is that you do the same and cross your fingers, maybe your luck will be better than mine.

I have had mixed success with LAN points as well, most recently when I needed them to come through to re qualify I called QF explained it, they could see the flights and credited them immediately (over the phone) I must have been lucky with the CSR I spoke to!

A few more phone calls and an email later and still no luck with getting my points and SCs credited to get me to Gold before my flights starting this Saturday.

This is aparently a problem with LAN flights that occured in April specifically and it's LA that is holding up the process rather than QF.
Even though QF now have copies of my boarding passes staff have been told that they must wait for the information to come from LA before points and SCs can be credited. A supervisor wasn't prepared to credit me because I'm not near the end of my membership year, even though I have upcoming flights for which I'll be missing out on Gold benefits.

:(

This is a final update for anyone who may have a similar problem in the future. 5 and a half weeks after my flights I've now been credited and finally made it to Gold.

I managed to get the points and status credits put on my account manually by providing copies of my boarding passes and ticket (or also for LAN view of booking on their website showing fare class and that segments have been flown), proving the class of travel paid for and that the legs were flown.
With all the required proof emailed through I was able to be credited over the phone, without having to wait for LAN to overcome their issues. I'm not sure if this is done that often, but considering my upcoming flights on Saturday the operator seemed happy to oblige.

I've done the run a few times but, luckily, I've never had any problems with my points/SCs being credited. Sometimes they get posted after a few days but it's been generally a week after the flight if my memory serves me correctly.

I flew 2 internal Chile y, 1 international y, and j Santiago to Auckland first week May with lan filled in missing miles claim form 2weeks ago and still nothing.

I'm also waiting for my points from an early May Syd-Akl-Syd run.... Was hoping that they would come thru by now so that I would have a greater chance with my upgrade request for my Mel-Lhr flight next week...oh well.

I did the SYD-AKL-SYD in J on April 27/May1 and am also still waiting for my points:confused:. Called QF few times and got the usual answer. Will probably keep calling them...:!:

I have had mixed success with LAN points as well...

Same here. Usually they are credited automatically within a day or two, very fast, but from time to time (like now) have to go thru the hoop to get them on. Annoying. Always make sure you send the ticket with fare basis along with the boarding passes, as the boarding passes themselves don't even show the class traveled, let alone the fare basis.

My points and SC's posted exactly 8 days after my SYD-AKL and 8 days after my AKL-SYD. Consistent at least!!
Same here, except within 7 days for both legs.I did email a missing points claim as soon as I was able. Not sure if that had any effect.

Mixed result...

First trip (circa 15 months ago) - SYD-AKL leg posted, had to forward boarding passes etc to claim the return.

August 2011 - both legs posted 6 days following the AKL-SYD flight

Still very erratic.

Took a trip to Santiago Nov/Dec last year. Outward leg was QF code share, points awarded within days. Of two internal Chilean flights I've been credited points for one, and I'm still waiting for the return leg on 2nd December. I've put in a claim, but still no luck after three weeks.

Update
Just had a note on my activity statement rejecting my claim for 'name mismatch.'

I have spoken to Qantas and they say that this seems to be happening a lot with LAN. QF will credit the points manually, but advise anyone flying LAN on a LAN flight number (QF codeshare works fine) to retain ticket and boarding pass to support a claim.
