KrisFlyer Points expiry extension

I have taken the trouble of using their feedback forms to write about the outdated policy they have and point out that they can go 2 ways at this point. Change the policy and win the hearts of many members or let the points expire and probably lose those members for ever. Perhaps more should provide similar feedback for them to take notice. feedback link

Or a third way, and keep the expiration date rolling on.

Yes, that’s right, extensions offered for COVID. Does that include expired points though I wonder?
But, definitely does’t restart a three year timeline.

To be sure, best to call SQ to get the info that depends on how ‘old’ yr points were and how long an extension is on offer. Do you need the phone number?

Yeah, I might give them a call today to see what they say. I'll post an update.

Spoke to KF today and they confirmed with a team leader/manager.
The KFmiles used to redeem flights will carry their original expiry date. This means, if you cancel the booking and the miles are expired, the miles will not go back to your account.
However, during covid19, the expiring miles are treated per the current extension offer which extends any miles expiring between now and June 2021 by another 6 months.
  • Extending KrisFlyer miles that will be expiring between April and December 2020 by six months.
  • Extending KrisFlyer miles that will be expiring between January and June 2021 by six months. [NEW]
