Does anyone know if you are able to change or cancel a Krisflyer Business Saver Award flight and if so, what the costs incurred would be? I don't enjoying calling Singapore Airlines, I was on hold on and off for 55 minutes recently and at the end of that call, there was still no answer to a really basic query about another issue.

You can easily change online FREE of charge if you simply want to change date / time or even routing if you can find availability - but bear in mind that port of origin cannot change. As KPC mentioned USD30 to cancel booking and provided your pts are not due to expire they will be redeposited into your KF account and Taxes refunded less USD30.


As for being on hold - who / what number did you call? There is only ever one number to call - 02 9350 0203 - YES it is a SYD number but will divert direct to SQ/KF office in SIN at local Australian call rates.
 
I called 131011. Such dreadful "customer service". I just wanted to know the cost to change the destination of a paid booking to another city. He kept putting me on hold and the duration was forever and at the end of the call I said, nicely, "so you are telling me that after being on hold for so long you cannot answer my question?" and he said he had to refer it to another department and that they would be in touch, which they were, after 2 days of waiting. It really puts me off using the airline. I also have an issue with them regarding a paid flight which on one leg is a "sweet deal" and on the return is a flexi fare. I called them within a few hours of making the booking to change the sweet deal into a flexi fare also and was told "even if I could do that, it will not make any difference as the whole fare is treated as a "sweet deal" mam. So definitely no grace periods with Singapore Airlines. I mentioned all this to a senior travel agent I know and she was well aware of what I meant and said "worst customer service reservation team ever!". And sadly I must agree.
 
Thanks. Are you sure there are no restrictions on the Business Saver, as it is only 80,000 Krisflyer miles, compared to the other redemption fares which are nearly double that amount of Krisflyer miles.

I'd suggest skip the 131011 number in future (if there is a future) and either dial the SYD number Cruiser Elite mentioned above, or use skype or other method with 1-3c/min call costs to dial directly to Singapore +65 6789 8188 - although not sure if that works for paid bookings, should for awards.

As for grace periods, there are many airlines that (when not required to by law to offer a grace period), consider the transaction and ticket final once you submit credit card details. Finito. At that point you are stuck with T&C of your original booking.

I called up and changed dates on an intra-Asia business saver award flight in May/Jun sometime. There was no cost for doing so - the agent indicated so long as the same exact fare/award was available, they didn't mind (YMMV). Call was quick and painless. Looks like I've come off lucky in some regards. Other experiences with KrisFlyer team have been more painful though!

Ok, sounds like Business Saver awards have flexibility for changes, that's music to my ears, thanks!
