KLIA2 to open 28 June 2013, the 15th anniversary of the opening of KLIA.
KLIA2 is the new budget terminal that is a replacement for the LCCT, albeit the CGI graphics show it looking a lot less budget inside.

Even better is that KLIA2 will be connected to KLIA and the KLIA Ekspres via rail connection.

Certainly looks a step up from the good old LCCT!

As a Sydneysider I always get slightly annoyed when I read about second and third airports/terminals opening...the best we can do is duty free shopping redesigns!

Looks like a very nice design inside. Seems to have a sort of "bubble" concept going (lots of circles, and an interesting mix of white and light green it appears).

To be fair, outside of the duty free shop, the area in the proximity of the shop look much better than they did before.

Without making another SYD airport discussion thread, SYD has some serious community, social and government issues before it can think about serious reconstruction (or new construction). No such social issues to consider in Malaysia, and the money will always come from somewhere when the government is running the show (viz. the airport)!
