We're scheduled to fly MEl-BKK on 7/12. I contacted Jetstar about what was happening with flights into BKK and they said they were only dealing with customers scheduled to fly up to 30/11. Does anyone know what Jetstar are doing, are they offering full refunds. Are they diverting flights and if so where are they diverting to. Are they giving people a choice to divert to either KL or Singapore etc.

I'm not sure about Jetstar, but TG are offering full refunds without question. They are warning that it could take up to 12 weeks though.

I was due to fly BKK-ICN-SFO on Monday with Asiana, and they were not offering full refunds until the day of departure. I took a guess that even then the airport won't be operating and will get a refund anyway.

At this point I would think that BKK will not be open at all next week.

I contacted Jetstar again but other then the info posted on their web site it is very difficult to get any info out of them as we aren't scheduled to fly for another week.

Jetstar Asia and some other airlines have started flying into U-Tapao airport (Pattaya), about 2 hours or so S.E. of Bangkok. I'm hoping that Jetstar flights from Australia will also start landing there. Would be interested if anyone has any info on what's happening (or has happened) with flight JQ29 MEL->BKK leaving Sunday 30/12.

Full refund is better then nothing but at this stage it's not going to be of much use as we have outlaid many thousnd of $ on top of the flight from Aus.

And thats right about now you should see what your travel insurance will cover is you have such, Search here for a thread on when you can get refunds from insurance when the govt warning is changed to do not travel.
If no insurance maybe you paid on a credit card that has some insurance ?
