That makes no sense at all. Employees engaging in industrial action need customers on their side to place pressure on the employer to negotiate in good faith. The most effective industrial action will cost the employer dearly while not affecting customers.

We agree. Others did not. And the unions now agree with us too - cancelling their plans to strike over the peak holiday period when people are trying to get home.
 
At the end of the day, there are two parties involved in EBA negotiations - the workgroup and the company. The opinion of the public is really only material.

Why do you think the pilot union has not bothered to rebut the total lies that have been told regarding pilot pay/conditions ($300k+, 30 hour weeks etc etc). There's no point getting into a public s**tshow. QF/JQ have decided to lie to the public (as they did during the Qantas issue in 2011) however the union have taken the high ground and not bothered to get involved.

It's not up to workers to provide the public with airfares that are not commercially viable. Nobody wants to upset peoples plans, but the public has gained over the years by Jetstar under-pricing
