I've booked a J AAward ticket on the A380 for next year and am looking at the seatmap:

This is when my AA Gold (OWR) status was in the booking:

I then ring up and ask for my WP number to be put in and ask for 12E. It then shows as this:

If I want to change it for any reason, looks like I need to ring up again. Wondering why as a WP the rest of the seatmap isn't available? This is showing in MMB now, but the AA number is still there (can't be "removed"). It's not showing in the my AA "my trips" section.

FWIW, I have another J AAward on a refurbed QF 747 which shows this:

They are both on QF flight numbers. Thoughts?

Suspect your AA number i still on Qantas's system. May take some time to shift out of AAs system into Amadeus.
(assuming you called AA)

I got the same problem, except on some legs I got WP seatmap some I dont. They wont let you remove the AA number unfortunately.

Called QF both times.
Booked the 747 flight a couple of weeks before the A380 one.
The AA number still appears on QF MMB for both - my guess not being able to remove it, has something to do with AA miles being used for the booking?

Interesting how in one example, a WP can see all J seats and on the other, a WP can only see the same as Ruby.
Maybe it has something to do with the type of aircraft, but to me it doesn't add up.

FWIW the first time I rang QF I gave them the ticket number in the e-ticket to search for the booking (747) and the second time I have them the QF PNR (380). This was after ringing AA who had not sent me the e-ticket and I enquired about getting the ticket number and they also gave me the QF PNR.

Oh, so does your BP still have the AA number? ie there is no way of taking it out and putting your QFF one in?

The girl on the phone politely told me that I wouldn't be earning points as it is a classic award when I asked to change it

My view is that there is no harm and you may be more likely to be treated "more favourably" as a WP....

Looks like it won't really matter, got it changed to F! :D

On the phone, the AA guy said I was pre allocated 2A.

Will be my first international F flight, I'm thinking of getting 1A "just because I can" :D

Odd that they won't let you change it to your QF FF#.

With my AAdvantage awards booking (flights with QF&BA) I switched out the AAdvantage# for my QF# online without any hassle. Translated across Amadeus in minutes; now visible along with my regular bookings in MMB when logged in under my frequent flyer number.

It's showing in MMB when I log in to my QFF account, but this is what it shows on the booking page:

Are you able to change AAward bookings so that your QFF number is showing (circled)?
