iSelect and Qantas Frequent Flyer have announced a new offering which allows iSelect customers to earn Qantas Points when purchasing Private Health Insurance and Energy products.
The offer has been launched following the signing of a three year deal between Qantas Frequent Flyer and iSelect.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said the Qantas Frequent Flyer and iSelect partnership is a great example of how the program is constantly seeking new offers that expand the benefits of the program for its members.
“This partnership with iSelect provides Qantas Frequent Flyers with new ways to earn Qantas Points when purchasing private health insurance and energy products,” she said.
iSelect Executive Chairman and co-founder, Mr Damien Waller, said that he was thrilled to be able to offer iSelect Private Health Insurance and Energy customers the opportunity to earn Qantas Points.
“iSelect is Australia’s most visited online comparison service with 7.8 million visits[1] to its websites annually. We are delighted to join forces with Qantas Frequent Flyer to deliver our customers even more benefits,” he said.
From Monday 28 October 2013 Qantas Frequent Flyer members will have the opportunity to earn Qantas Points when purchasing the following products from iSelect:

Good if it works for you.

The couple of times I used iSelect they could not match or better what I already have.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Seems like a pretty stingy deal to be honest. I'd make more from event tickets compared to the health insurance.

The relentless conversion of a once great frequent flyer program into a shopping discount program continues...

EDIT: Why do QFF constantly refer to the adding of some new earning partner as a "new benefit"? Surely a "new benefit" would be the ability to redeem at lower rates than the current ones?

I think the key issue with iSelect is that you are lead to believe they will be able to offer the best deal in the market.
I remember when I was using their site to look at rates for a friend I found the best rates they came up with were not competitive with Medibank.
Further enquiry elucidated the fact that Medibank do not offer their product through iSelect as in principle they do not believe the commissions iSelect impose are in the interests of their members. I believe other insurerers take the same view. So the iSelect deal maybe not be worth the few thousand Qantas points.
On the other hand I do not mind Qantas expanding the list of suppliers that offer QF points. This can often work to the advantage of AFF members.
