Is this enough time [MCT]?

Hi Everyone, I'm hoping some one can give me some advice. I'm booking my first multi-stop trip on-line with Qantas and feeling very unsure of myself.

I'm looking at the part of the trip Sydney - Dubai - Oslo (I'm not planning a stopover on this leg of the journey). The flight (operated by Emirates) from Sydney to Dubai arrives at 0605 and the next one departs for Oslo at 0725. The combination comes up together on the Qantas site with different flight numbers but the same terminal.

My questions are;
1. Is this enough time between flights? I'm thinking that if Qantas/Emirates have designed it this way it must be enough time.
2. If this is how Qantas has combined it, do I check in at Sydney and pick up my bags in Oslo or do I have to recheck my bags at Dubai?

I'd be grateful for any advice - this all new to me. Thank you.

Re: Is this enough time?

In theory the QF website won't allow it if the minimum connection time (MCT) isn't met.

As it'll be on the same ticket, you'll check in for both flights at SYD, and get your bags checked through the whole way.

If something does go amiss, it's the airline's responsibility to get you to Oslo.

If you don't like the short connection time, you are able to look for other connections.

Re: Is this enough time?

Thank you very much, mannej. That's the sort of advice I was looking for. Much appreciated!

Re: Is this enough time?

The airlines will only sell the connection if it meets MCT. However, flights through DXB T3 (EK/QF) can use any of 3 concourses (A, B and C), while flights using T1 (all other major international carriers) use concourse D, all 4 concourses are connected.

If both flights are using the same concourse, a 1 hr 20 connection is quite doable. If they are using different concourses, it becomes more difficult.

Re: Is this enough time?

Thanks, Himeno. I was hoping that (MCT) would be the case.
I feel more confident now. I think I'll go ahead and book it.
