Is this a record for Heathrow?

Heathrow has been getting a lot of bad press recently, so it was with some trepidation that yours truly and sundry felines negotiated Terminal 5 yesterday after flying in from Tokyo. Imagine our surprise to find almost all of the immigration desks staffed - our express passes were almost redundant. Gate to landslide in no more than 35 minutes! Apparently in the last week or so they've rushed in a whole lot of temporary workers in the run up to the Olympics.
Nice to have good news to report for a change.:D

Excuse me being curious, but what's with the cat thing? Why would anyone be taking a troop of cats from Japan to England? And did you take them on board in separate cages? Or in a single cage as luggage? Or did they sit politely belted into J class seats? What food were they served en route?
Personally, I quite like the idea of having a cat on my lap for part of a flight. Did you think of offering them around to the other passengers?

I think the OP (being 'scaredeycat') was referring to offspring ;)

Maybe you're correct. I hadn't thought of that possibility. Initially I thought he(?) was being sexist and referring to female companions, but then I noticed the name plus the icon, and so I thought that he/she must really be in the International Cat Business - whatever that business might be. I was really just seeking clarification.
I have enjoyed the company of pigs on board in PNG, but never cats, and I was simply laughing at various scenarios which came to mind.

There is a reason that we try to keep our sex ambiguous...

I went throught LHR aat the end of Feb, at which ever terminal Eithad land at coming from AUH, and was from the gate to the limo with my checked luggage in under 15 minutes, no queues, ad business class seats so one of the first of the plane, and a european passport. I tihnk it even surprised the limo driver as he wasn't expecting anyone so quickly.

I hope this effort is sustained and maybe dare I hope that T3 has also improved as that can be quite a shocker with the morning arrivals

Had a good run through LHR in APR, landed on QF9 and at gate at T3 at a little over 6am and was sitting in my seat on my connection from T5 at 6:30AM! Everything just worked perfectly, no queue anywhere and the bus was about to leave when we got on. A bit of luck is required with LHR in my experience.
