Hi - we're flying to LHR at the end of the month with VA/EY - unfortunately won't hit Platinum until the flights home.

Is it worth the trek between terminals to get to the Al Reem loungeat AUH? All going well, we'll have 2 3/4 between flights.

Thanks!

From what i've heard, it's decidedly average at best. But still, it's a lounge. For 2 3/4 hours, i'd be wanting to sit in a lounge anywhere for a least a drink, preferably a shower (not sure if they have showers there).

I have used the Al Reem a few times, its not all that bad. Its not as good as domestic VA lounges IMO, however is better than say the Air NZ Koru Lounge at Brisbane. Food and drink offerings were ok and it was clean and tidy. There is a downstairs section which is fairly quiet, i was able to pull 2 chairs together and get comfortable, i actually fell asleep. Its not great, but its certainly better than sitting in the main terminal.

Have used a few times as well.

Average - nothing spectacular, 'Adequate' would be the best way I would describe it. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

I passed on the opportunity to use it. Anyone can buy access for around $30.

It is also a hike back from T3 and you have to get through security there. At least at T3 with Gold you can use the Business security screening which is quick.

For that time period it is worth it. Bit of a trek but it's not too bad, but can get very crowded, especially in the mornings. From what I remember of it, it's not that much different to the EY J lounge which can also get just as crowded however is much better located. However, once you hit plat, the difference between Al Reem/EY J and EY F Lounge is night and day...

As most have said, the Al Reem lounge is average at best. However it is better than the AUH terminal, unless you want to kill a few hours shopping. The walk between the two is probably a good 10-15 minutes from memory. If I was transmitting through and only had 1-2 hours, I probably would not bother but 2-3 hours is a long time to wait.

The EY first class lounge is pretty amazing, massage room, showers, ala cart dinning and buffet. Personal service.

Thanks everyone (especially for rubbing in how amazing the EY First Class lounge is, that I won't have access to until *after* I get back to Oz :p)

Really not looking forward to the final leg in EY economy (after PE for the VA leg), so it's probably worth it just to stretch the legs and (hopefully) get a shower.
