They are safe until they are not safe. Those things can and do change at any time. If they did delist then frequent flyers won't even know until the day it happens if their points are worthless as there would be no requirement to public financial reporting.

Who remembers the Ansett TV ads saying we are here to say, absolutely.

Time to blast through the pts with J lax redemptions is what I’m hearing.... #anyexcuse

$1 billion loss since JB headed it up. Better spend those points ASAP.
All those flybuys points transfer promotions going around lately...

I took the article to mean that delisting just means that Virgin would go private, as opposed to calling in administrators.

Plainly as the 90% owners have approved this burning-money strategy to establish meaningful market share, one would think it unlikely they'd mangle what has been achieved by destroying the Velocity points scheme.

Renato

Going private means they don't have disclose anything to the public or their frequent flyers.

It may only take a change in management at one of the 90% of owners to say enough is enough and its shy down.

It's your an investor airline and virgin isn't feeding into your network more than you're spending why would you keep finding it?

Destroying the frequent flyer scheme may be the cheapest way to save you putting in cash again for next years loss.

I don't know, I haven't studied the numbers on Virgin.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The current corporate structure of Velocity is actually far safer (for the customer) than both the old AN and current QF FF schemes.

Velocity is a completely separate company to VA and only partially owned by VA. It should therefore have its own separate cash reserves and assets to cover the points outstanding and should not be directly involved in any possible troubles at VA. Currently, Velocity is very profitable in its own right, but that profitability would obviously take a hit if VA were to disappear...

That is most interesting, thank you.
