Great article, thanks for the link.

Never knew that meals for pilot and co pilot and different and prepared by different departments.

A special order cake would certainly get you in the good books with SWMBO.

On the topic of airline food... I will soon be travelling with a junior who has a nut allergy. Any previous experience on doing this on Singapore Air? It's not listed as one of the options under dietary so we've just gone as standard kids meal for now. Don't know if it's worth giving the airline a buzz or anything?
Thx:!:

Interesting read, but she needs a proof reader.

They certainly do eat a lot of chicken!

Regardless of her writings and blogs, Nigella Lawson is a goddess to alot of people. You know she's even got a kitchen-ware apparel range?

Repete: From memory, SIA no longer offer Nut free flight or meals. You should give SIA a call for assistance. You will most likely be asked to sign a waiver. You might have to bring your own food. (Note: I stand to be corrected on this.)

Thanks for the article, it makes an interesting read. Next time I am in J, I will appreciate the food a little bit more.

I thought this was common knowledge...

Last thing you really want to hear over the PA half way through a 14 hour flight is "Does anyone know how to fly a plane"...

Of course food poisoning in the middle of a 14 hour flight would be a bad thing in any case, but you don't want the people who are flying the plane to also both (or all) come down with a case of it.

Sounds like they've all seen "Flying High" (aka 'Airplane):D

Nigella Lawson?! The blog is "Not Quite Nigella"....

On my last flight from KTA-PER in J, I learned that the meals the chaps up the front had were in fact dissimilar to any of the whY and J meals. I only know this as it was eventually offered to me, as the pilot didn't want it (and I had missed out on a meal due to their only being salads left, which were very pedestrian).
