Over time, website developers have come up with innovative ways of finding us good flights. Her's another to add to the mix.

Using Skyscanner as a default now but it doesn't always take up options via LCC. It did send me to Skypicker.

What I liked about this site:

  • It threw me some pretty radical yet interesting routings, it BNE-HKG via Sin, Ceb and returning via KL. I'll call that the taste of Asia routing.
  • The results have a nice display showing the routing.
  • The map shows prices to many other destinations. This seems handy where we have some flexibility on how we get places.

(I'm still not convinced I would want to travel on a 5 leg journey using all of Tiger, PR, Cebu, Emirates plus considering the chances of that all working.)

Looking into the site a little more I did see the Skypicker Guarantee:

We have you covered if you miss your connecting flight due to cancellation, delay, or rescheduling of any of the flights you booked with us during your journey. If such a situation occurs, we will either buy you a seat on the next available flight to your destination free of charge or issue a full refund of your booking.

Would be interesting to see how people go with that.

I have found a few little glitches with this.

I am looking for a fare NAN-MEL about 26th Sept and Skyscanner gave me a $53 better option than Skypicker and a better connection. Both were via SYD with SS offering VA all the way and SP changing to TT in SYD.

Also on that leg the map shows a track off to somewhere near just West of Africa.:confused:

yes, I think you are right about the maps. Cebu seems to have moved a few hours south as have a few other Philippines cities.

I don't think it will be successful in it's current form. Needs some more search filters. Offering me a four sector journey from SIN-BNE is madness as the price isn't any better, although I do get to spend an extra day in each of HKG & SYD.

I do hold out some hope though if it can co-ordinate bookings for me. I usually end up taking a direct flight BNE-SIN or HKG, then needing to take a combination of Tiger or Cebu to get in and out of Philippines. Would be good to be able to ticket it in one transaction instead of needing to visit 3 websites for ticketing.
