Well as they say all good things must come to an end and my QF flight today will be my last as a P1

It's been a good two and a bit years racking up 10,000 sc's along the way but I will admit that I'm exhausted this year and the toll of that many mainly domestic Y flights is large both on the body and the family.

What will I miss? The ability to select seats outside of T-80 the most. Back to the world of calendar reminders next year. I would also say the SST and the option of having someone to call to change the little things like today when I noticed my shadow had been taken and I called and easily changed to a seat with a shadow available.

So thank you Qantas and the SST team for the program and the support and to anyone considering a status run to get over the WP1 threshold I say go for it

Hopefully you'll still get that bottle of LGD to send you out in style !!

Meh - I've had better service from QF since I dropped from P1 that I got when I was P1 ;)

all I can say is wow, P1 with mainly Y flights, I slightly feel sorry for you :(

Begs the question that, for a WP1, why was the shadow taken when there was evidently another middle seat available?

Reading the 'WP1' thread, I'm quite satisfied with my decision not to go for WP1, but rather sit on WP and reach good status on a Air Canada/Star Alliance airline. That's with international options of course; I see you are dom only, so maybe WP1 makes more sense.

The web site won't let me go back to my P1 qualifying year of 2013 to see how many exact QF and one world flights I took but from memory

2013 circa 4,000 sc with circa 7 international flights - say 900 sc the rest domestic Y. At an average sc of say 20 per flight circa 150 domestic flights

2014 circa 3,700 sc with circa 10 international flights the rest Domestic Y so circa 130 domestic flights

2015 2,600 sc with 6 international and 105 domestic Y flights

There were other VA and non one world flights on top of these

Hmmm. My shadow has been variable for a while. The last trip was SYD-PER-MEL-SYD with no shadow on the first two legs - one disappeared just prior to boarding and the other was initiated by a FA after take off to "accommodate a couple who had been separately seated and one of them has an injured leg".

They spoke loudly for most of the flight so overhearing parts of their conversation they were only very casually related and neither walked with a limp. Such is life
