Last year, in December, my family flew Thai to BKK and home.
At the time I was NOT a member of Flying Blue, Oneworld, or Star Alliance or any FF affiliations except Qantas.

My question is in parts:
1. How long ago, is too long, to claim missing miles for Thai international.? (it's been 8 months.)
2. If I did, .....WHICH? I can't work it out. I think they're part of Oneworld, which Flying Blue is part of ...as I have an account there. OR krisflyer (as I have an account there,) which is Star alliance I think, or is it something else. I'm also a Velocity member. I think Krisflyer points can be converted to Velocity. Does that mean Star Alliance can too?
So....who would take care of missing miles for those flights??
3. Can you retro claim?...because I wasn't a member of any FF then, only Qantas and Velocity.
Thanks.

Sorry if it's another dumb newbie question.

Thai is Star Alliance.

Flying Blue is KLM which is SkyTeam
Qantas is oneworld

Your best chance will be on KrisFlyer (although unsure if 8 months will be too old)
Follow instructions here

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Claiming miles retroactively is often restricted to the airline you flew with. For example if you fly Thai, you can join their program and credit flights after you have flown.

You cannot normally join say Singapore Airlines Kris Flyer and then try to retroactively credit Thai flights.

But have a look at the program details.

You are correct that you could have credited points from Thai to Singapore (had you been a member at the time) and then transferred those to Velocity.

I suspect it might bea a bit late for SQ. You can check TG. Just go to their FF pages and have a look at the retroactive requirements.

Most FF program T&Cs that I've read tend to allow retrospective claims for either 4 or 6 months. I wouldn't hold hope for success after 8 months but give it a go anyway. The worst they can say is no.
