I fly frequently between London - Brisbane. Since Qantas linked to Emirates there's no longer options for Premium Economy bookings in and out of Brisbane. So I've been flying into Sydney, yhen Sydney - Brisbane. My journeys are now much longer, more expensive and more tiring.

I could et BA flights Premium Economy striaght to Brisbane - BUT - here's my question - would these flights (who are still One World partners with Qantas) still get me the same FF points and status points?

Yes, BA earn is the same whether on codeshare or their metal ex Australia, and its a better product IMHO as you will get the refurbished 747 PE product. Of course you will lose the BNE SYD points etc so it will be less, points wise very little but its 20 SC each way for that leg.

If you fly regularly on BA consider crediting to American Advantage as BA has good earning for AA and typically you get much better earn/burn vs QFF, plus ability to do AA platinum challenge as BA qualifies for the challenge.

If doing this trip regularly ... consider alternatives to Qantas FF.

Do you have access to a UK address? It may be worth considering joining up BA executive club and putting your miles there instead of Qantas FF. If travelling in premium economy, a return to UK from BNE will accrue 380 tier points (63% of OW Sapphire - or equivalent to QF Gold, or 25% of OW Emerald) vs crediting to QF you get 280 SC's (40% of attaining QF Gold, 46% of retaining, or 20% of attaining QF Plat or 23% of retaining). And for many (but not all) routes, you will require less Avios than QFF points redemptions.

Probably an even better option would be to consider would be AAdvantage - the points are considerably more valuable , and a return trip accrues 31,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (63% of OW Sapphire, or 32% of OW Emerald), and you could do a challenge on just one trip to get you status initially.

To be transparent: downsides of not having QFF status - no access to lounges when travelling on flights operated by EK or JQ regardless of whether a QF code is on the ticket or not.

Since when did BA fly direct to BNE?

So it would be the QF codeshare SIN-BNE. Is the BA airfare flying QF metal cheaper than the QF airfare?

It would be on the QF metal out of BNE.

You will get the same status credits flying on BA but less QFF points if your QFF status is Silver or higher.
I'm a little confused as to how you could fly direct to BNE on BA unless you mean BA to HKG and BA codeshare CX to BNE. Regardless the same principles apply. Status credits as per QF, points earn less as there is no status bonus on BA or CX.

Hi, I fly to UK a couple of times a year. After the Emirates debacle I always now fly BA WT+ (prem. econ.) it costs about $2000 less than QF. The new BA WT+ cabin is just as good as QF PE, the food is not quite as good but better than it used to be, just make sure you book on the 777/300 series, not the old 747. You will get the same tier points /status credits as on QF but not as many ff points as it is no longer a code share. Just check that they book you into the premium economy cabin and NOT into y on the QF leg, they might say no PE cabin available. I live TSV but find it is easier to fly BA out of SYD as I have not managed to get PE on QF out of BNE. The reason is probably that QF charges a LOT more for PE than BA does.
The other advantage now is you arrive and depart from LHR T5, if you have status the BA Galleries lounges are much better at T5 and you can use the arrivals lounge if you are QF Platinum. Only trouble is you won't get into any lounges with QF club membership, you need Gold status.

BA still codeshare to SIN ad HKG ex BNE on QF metal

Beware on a QF sector sold as BA flight number you will get lowly BA points on all sectors if I'm not mistaken? :(
