Just had to do a quick check to see if Iberia was still a member of OneWorld.

Noticed points missing for a recent IB flight so went into "Claim missing points". Surprised to see IB is not in the drop down list, nor in Claim Qantas Points.

Is this the work of the vacation kids in IT?

Of course they are - they merged with BA. I can't see them leaving unless BA leave. In fact, Aer Lingus is rejoining (all owned by IAG now).

Must be a QF glitch.

Not all partner airlines can be claimed online. For partners not listed you need to email the documentation in.

Claims for all other partner airlines need to be made to the Frequent Flyer Service Centre via email to [email protected]. You will need to include original boarding passes, copies of tickets along with any other supporting documentation confirming your entitlement to the missing points.

I also tried to lodge a missing points claim for a IB sold Vueling flight a few months back. Couldnt find IB in the list. Contacted QF about it. Got the standard reject not at all noting i had specifically been sold an Iberia flight. Anyway gave up and didnt chase.

Im sure you will have better luck.

They didn't merge but they do have the same parent company.

Well, they did. They signed a merger agreement. They just kept the two airlines as separate brands. IAG was created by the merger of the two airlines.

You can merge and maintain two airlines. Merge is a commercial term.

Apologies. I stand corrected.

I earnt points last year on both IB mainline and IB coded vueling - no problems at all. Mind you I didn't have to claim, it was automatically credited.

It was the glitch that I was referring to. QF seem to put them in the same class as "other partner airlines " rather than a full member of OW

Maybe ill call them and give it another go.
I tried to add my QFF at the airport but the Veuling system only had BA, CX, JL & IB as accepted programs they could add.
My QFF was in the IB booking but it obviously just got ignored.

I just had a look - my QF number was on the original IB booking.

If I recall, I also checked in at a counter in BCN where I may have re-presented my card.

Yep had the same. It was in the booking but didnt show when i checked in. Showed the guy my card to confirm it was added. He tried it and it didnt work. He showed me his screen and that it didnt work for him and he only could do certain airlines. It was a cheap flight anyway so im expecting it to probably be in a non earning fare bucket. But i will call tomorrow morning and see.

What route were you flying?

BCN to AGP (Barcelona to Malaga) sold as IB5715 (VY2125)

I should of flown that route (in reverse) - I drove it straight in one day - extremely hungover. Nice drive though.

I don't know if there's any difference in the routes - I flew BCN - IBZ (Ibiza).

So i called them and pretty much got the same response.
Because the T's & C's state that specifically Iberia doesnt count if its on their codeshare partners that it was not operated by Iberia. The fact it was sold as Iberia flight doesnt make a difference. They made it sound like it was something specific towards Iberia rather than an alliance general rule.

Frequent Flyer - Flying Qantas and Partner Airlines - Flying with Qantas & Jetstar - Earning Qantas Points

The codeshare condition appears a fair bit - I.e the codeshare partner has to be OW or an affiliate to earn on QFF

Yeh i guess justinbtett was lucky to get points for his flights.
Its ok i had come to terms with it after my initial enquiry.
