Maybe posting here will make me feel a little better about my failing!
I dropped from plat to gold late last year. Have been flying lots domestically since March, so started to push back up towards the required 1,400.
My big problem - using the odd JQ flight as Avalon was a bit easier for me. JQ points never get added, and realized I need to do missing flight claims each time. I'm still waiting on 70 status credits to be added.
So, not deterred, I have put them to one side, and am at 1,360 points. So I flew twice with Qantas yesterday - Sydney - Canberra, Canberra - Melbourne - bang, 1,400 credits.
My Sydney - Canberra flight had hit my account before landing in Canberra. But my Canberra - Melbourne flight hasn't yet been credited.
I'm flying internationally today (another 70 status credit points due when I land). I called Qantas - can't do anything for 3 days. They said they would speak to the lounge staff though and confirm they were in process.
Melbourne Qantas 1st lounge manager - no, I can't get into 'nitty gritty, you are either a member or you are not - it says you are gold'.
So, that was that - back to the business lounge.
It'll probably tick over to Platinum as soon as the flight is boarding.
Soooooo annoying - have spent an absolute fortune, and missed it by 20 status credits (when I am waiting on 90 to be credited) - and the attitude of the lounge dude, pretty disappointing!
Ehhhh well!!!

The pain and shame :(
But you didn’t have a tantrum and meltdown which says a lot.

Feel your pain :(
Hope you were able to at least get into the EK lounge rather than the very pedestrian QF J lounge..

Not the best reply from the lounge manager but they would have many people trying it on daily so it becomes weary for them over the long run.

Status credits are taking longer to appear currently. I’m still waiting on yesterday’s early morning flight to come through.

Your only option could shave been to show the BP's for yesterdays flights (card or electronic) to the Lounge attendant. Well, access for the return sector should be assured.

Guess crediting varies, but for my last two flights on Qantas points and status credits were in my account when I landed. :)

Fake News. This story cannot be true....

Numerous members here have stated that QF SC credit to their account before they land (or even take off in some cases). In fact, one prominent member stated for the written record that on every single flight they have ever taken on QF, their SC were in their account upon arrival without exception.

I take it that's a facetious comment, and could have had a ';)' attached?

I'm not sure if you're being ironic (no smilie there), but there are multiple reports of delayed or missing SCs coming through. Over the journey, I've had a mixture of "in before landing" and "wait multiple days" (usually less than 2, usually involving o/s flights).

Non-QF often take far longer.

Are you sure this wasn't also reported on the totally fake news CNN and the totally failing New York Times? ;)

fakenews, or more probably marginal news. Of course it takes a while.

You have my sympathies.

Last year was down at SG - first in a couple of years - but qualified WP due to a *large* number of MEL-DXB-CDG-DXB-MEL in Y on Codeshares.

My newly minted status shone Black'n'Bright on my QF Account but - try as I would - I could not get it reflected on the first MEL-DXB-CDG trip which was about a week after. EK tried dropping my QFF membership and re-adding, I spoke with the Station Manager at MEL about possible FLounge access at DXB. "Computer says 'No'" ... despite their seeing it on my phone and speaking with QF.

... Sometimes you just have to suck it up.

Magically appeared for the return leg, though!!

Regards,

BD

I have no idea why you are referencing this.

I think they was trying to be funny...but missed the mark for a lot of us. The use of emoticons do help understanding the level of seriousness...

Back on topic, I'm waiting to see @Snowman post here once he lands - I'll bet his status will be updated overnight. So at least on his return he'll have the newly minted Plat status operative.

Next time ask to speak to even more SENIOR manager who can overrule decision of rude junior manager.
Lot of people use title of manager but sometimes not the most SENIOR one in charge. Do not take NO for answer.

Unfortunate but will make the next entry just a little sweeter.

Depending on how you ask for the senior manager, this is a sure fire way to have security called and be denied boarding for the flight.

A few years ago, when I earned QF Gold for the first time, I was in the middle of a trip in South America. I attempted to access a Oneworld lounge at GRU around a week after my status was upgraded but for some reason my BP was still showing Oneworld ruby. The lounge staff refused to help. Not much I could do, so I just accepted it. Good on the OP for doing the same.

You see, the flaw with this approach is where do you stop if you're not going to take no for an answer? Ok, demand a "senior" manager deals with you. If and when they back up the "junior" manager then demand the QF airport duty manager be called who, I guarantee, will corroborate the other staff. At this stage you're running the risk of being a no fly and having federal police attend the lounge.
