I'm thinking this can't be true whilst hoping it is.

I was looking at flt. dfw-sea 8/11, return, thinking possible sc run. Oz. site came up ret. $1342.20 for instant upgrade. I went to us site and fare called first special, I've not seen before, with ret. of us$805.60.

Same flts., etc. and in P class. Ret. 240 sc. in my qff. Seeing as flying from business tsv-bne is usually around $900 one way and 60 sc I'm thinking this is amazing.

I have read on AFF of calling US to book due to Oz. c.c. and needed to be entered manually in US or something like that. Rang US, put through to two sections, to be told to go to Oz site. Three separate calls to Oz. site, told first to book through Oz. site and put on hold. Seeing as I have always gone through Oz. site and always pay straight up I wondered it there was a hold option, told there was.

Tried to do this, no hold button, rang back, told to go through US site, put on hold, rang Oz. site with the locator number, lovely girl trying to help, no go with c.c. being accepted. Two phone calls back now to me lovely girl trying to get things working. Tells me she had just about finished the process and system went down, so second call back. Now all finished and it has been sent for ticketing.

So fingers crossed I receive email confirming reservation. Three hours in total but worth it imo. If this wasn't a good deal, please keep me in ignorance.

If that's where you want to go and you are happy with it then great! enjoy the trip and the SC's.

It is always a good idea to check both sites.Sometimes the Oz site gives a better price or a better routing. For example last year flying ANC-NYC the US site would book me ANC-ORD-LGA but the Oz site sent me ANC-SEA-LGA and for $40 cheaper + more SCs.Booked like a true AFFer.

Thanks drron, I tend to do comparison for flts. leaving tsv. in business class, always very expensive and not much sc.
I've read the sites you pointed out Serfty, can't get my head around calculating cost of a sc in total cost. thought I was doing good to get such a hugh reduction on us site compared to oz site. having only one day free to fly, I did look at diff. options from dfw but seemed not doable for multiple reasons.

I indicated those threads to point out documented ways of making these bookings easier for you rather than the hassle you had to go through.

I booked a AA flight from the US website today without doing any of the "tricks" - used my australian cc and billing address, it worked well for our flights we took in august flights also.
