Hi all,

Travelling BNE-SIN in Y on SQ metal with Red Velocity status. Can someone me how many points I will earn for this if (a) it's on the SQ flight number and (b) it's on the VA flight number?

Also what would be the points earn BNE-SIN-NRT/HNT in J on SQ metal?

Thanks for your help with what is probably a very simple question.
Cheers

It's a simple question with a not-so-simple answer: the number of points you'll earn depends on what type of fare you select. Here's a very general rundown:

SQ Super Deals fare BNE-SIN: 382 points, 30 SCs
SQ Sweet Deals fare BNE-SIN: 1909 points, 30 SCs
SQ Flexi Saver fare BNE-SIN: 3818 points, 60 SCs
SQ Flexi fare BNE-SIN: 3818 points, 60 SCs

(the above depends quite a bit on exactly which fare is loaded for each of the above - I picked a random date and the SQ website gave me T as the Super Deals fare, N as the Sweet Deals fare, W as the Flexi Saver fare and E as the Flexi fare - YMMV)

For the VA flight number for the exact same dates and flights, I get the following:

VA Saver fare BNE-SIN: 1909 points, 30 SCs
VA Flexi fare BNE-SIN: 3818 points, 60 SCs

(again, points earn depends on what fare you actually get: I got T for the Saver fare and L for the Flexi fare)

For your other request, I don't know whether you wanted SQ coded flights or VA coded flights - so here's both (SIN-HND and SIN-NRT are the same number of miles as far as VFF are concerned, so that makes things easier):

SQ Business fare BNE-xSIN-TYO: 8913 points, 240 SCs
VA Business Saver fare BNE-xSIN-TYO: 10695 points, 240 SCs
VA Business fare BNE-xSIN-TYO: 14260 points, 240 SCs

in addition to the above VA are also running a SQ promo whereby you get an additional bonus of 50% on Economy and 100% Velocity Points on Business/First/Suites flying between April 10th and June 15th 2014.
You will need to register before April 7th to take advantage of that offer.

You will see it on the Velocity website under Specials>Airlines

Thanks for your help guys. Very useful. For the extra pts I will definitely book the Y trip on a VA code as the cost difference seems to be quite small. Unfortunate the J trip is for work and I doubt they will want to pay several hundred dollars more just so I can get extra pts. Lol

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
