This conversation started over dinner tonight with some friends. I got to 42 airlines. Probably a couple I missed, I'm sure.

I'm sure others would have many more. How many different airlines have you flown with?

(for arguments sake, counted QF, JQ and the like, as seperate airlines)

Ansett, TAA, QANTAS, Emirates, Qatar, British Airways, Air New Zealand, LAN, TAM, Virag, Star Peru, Gol, Aerolineas Argentina, Air India, Air France, Aeroflot, Jetstar(oz), Jetstar(Asia), Avianca, Pegasus, Iberia, Lufthansa, Southwest, Delta, American, Alaskan, Interjet, Air Bahamas, Copa, Malaysian, Singapore, Asiana, Lion Air, United, Staag Air, Ryan Air, Air Tunisia, Eva , Etihad, Thompson,

Air New Zealand, American Airlines, Ansett, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, easyJet, Emirates, Fiji Airways, Jetstar, Korean Air, Qantas, Ryan Air, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Tiger Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia.

Off the top of my head, probably missing a heap..

To be honest I'm not sure, but don't forget to include Qantas Link, Jetconnect, Hazelton, REX, Compass and other failed carriers.

23 that I know of (probably on the low end around here!):

AirAsia X, AirBaltic, American, British Airways, Buzz, Canadian Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Dragonair, Easyjet, Emirates, Jet2, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Malaysia Airlines, Nationwide Airlines (SA), Norwegian Air Shuttle, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Ryanair, Singapore Airlines, South African, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Australia

25 for me. Surprised I got so many, to be honest. I don't travel that much and when I do, it's usually *A. That said, I do oddly/childishly feel a little more excited when flying with a new airline. It's like collecting, I suppose. No new entrants likely anytime soon, sadly. Would like to get all *A airlines one day.

Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana, BMI, China Eastern, China Southern, Emirates, EVA, Hainan Airlines, Jetstar, Juneyao Airlines, LOT, Lufthansa, Qantas, SAS, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United, US Airways, Virgin Aust.

33
Air France, Air NZ, Air Vanuatu, Ansett, Bangkok Airways, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Compass, Czech Airlines, Egypt Air, Emirates, Etihad, Finnair, Garuda, Iberia, Icelandair, KLM, Malaysian Airlines, MMA, Qantas, Qantas Link, Qatar, Ryanair, SAS, Singapore Airlines, Skywest, TAA, Thai Airways, Tunisair, Virgin Australia, Virgin NZ, Virgin Samoa and some British charter airline the name of which I've forgotten.

Talking of failed carriers, the first ever F flight I took was with PanAm and I've never forgotten the expereience.

Ok Concord people ....

To be honest I'm not sure, but don't forget to include Qantas Link, Jetconnect, Hazelton, REX, Compass and other failed carriers.

40 not including some private flights.

22/23 depending

Qantas including Link, Sunstate etc., TAA, Australian Airlines (technically TAA I suppose), Ansett, Rex, Kendall, Alliance, Compass 1 and 2, FNQ Airlines (not sure the real name), BA, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, MH, Tiger, CX, Pan Am, AirNZ, Jetconnect, EK, TK, EY, VA.

unfortunately not Wallaby Airlines.

Mrs Gremlin thinks I'm weird, but I keep a live version of this list in my phone. Right next to my list of airports I've visited. Only 19 for me, but I'm a creature of habit.

I don't think that's the only reason Mrs Gremlin thinks I'm weird...

It is hard to remember some of the smaller regional carriers I used back in the 70s. And I see REX and Hazeltons as different. While a shorter list than many it was interesting trying to recall, but here goes: QF, JQ, AN, EW, TAA/AO?, EA, Rex, ZL, CO, BA, CX, AY, DS, AB, HG, A3, AF, KDA, OS, VA, DJ, SQ - so 22 that I can remember. And there were a lot of charter flights back in the 80s with NSW Forestry Commission and charter operators out of BWU & SYD, and hiring helicopters to lift pre-fab structures into place.
