Just a general question.....how long is an A380 out of service normally for refurbishment?

Depends on what is being done.

The 737 slimline toilets and add a row of seats about 2wks, 737 WiFi Install is taking 7-10 days, and the 330 refurb was a 4-6 week process from memory.

But these things are often combined with other big checks given for some checks you need to rip out all the seats anyway.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Depends what they are doing and when.
If they are just replacing the seats, it might take 3 weeks.
If they replace the seats at the same time as doing a D check, when they remove the seats anyway, then it wouldn't take any longer then the D check would normally have taken anyway.

When AA added "main cabin extra", they were adding it to their narrow bodies overnight (pull out 1 row of seats, realign the rest)
