I've now booked 2 hotel stays through Qantas Holidays, one from last week, the one from the week before. Both are yet to show up in my account, where as flights show up usually within 48 hours.

On that note, is booking hotel stays through Qantas a worthwhile thing? Obviously the choice is limited in regards to what hotels offer the 3 points per $1, but if there are more worthwhile ways to gain points, let me know. My work wants me to keep costs to about $200 a night where possible, so that rules some of the places like Hilton out most of the time.

the one booking with Qantas hotels I had about 1 or 2 years ago took the full 6 to 8 weeks to post. (or whatever time is specified on the website)

I often had to chase up QF Holidays for missing hotel points when I booked through them a couple of years ago. Sometimes the credit would not turn up for at least a month which prompted me to call up about them. After I called up, the credit usually came through within a fortnight.

Nice people to talk to at QF Holidays, but yes they aren't very quick with the whole crediting thing for hotels.

Just checked my account, took them a steady 3 to 4 weeks from the stay for all 3 bookings I did through QF Holidays earlier this year.

It states on the booking site something along the lines of points will be awarded so 6 to 8 weeks after stay has occurred.

I normally book through QF holidays for my hotel stays and on average it is roughly 6-7 weeks before points get awarded.

If you are in a hurry for them then it is best not to book through QF holidays. You can receive points quicker if you book directly through the hotel, however you do not receive the maximum amount of points as you can through QF.

Just followed up a 3-night stay at an Auckland hotel for the RWC booked via the Qantas site as I was expecting points to have been awarded for the stay.

Once I got through to the correct CSO, I was told that "not all hotels booked through the Qantas site offer points" - have since checked and this is true (of course).

In hindsight, this is easy to see (once you've clicked through to the hotel selection screen), however I do feel slightly cheated that there is not a more visible warning/notification when using the site for booking hotels. I tend to think that every service booked through the site (cars, hotels, holidays, etc) should give points. Anyone else feel the same way?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I had two stays where I had forgotten about the points, but lucky for me the points popped up some 10 weeks later.

I wonder why it takes them so long...

Was my first time using the site for an Hotel booking in ages, hence the follow up. Am used to points from Partners like Avis taking up to a week to come through though. Qantas itself is very quick at posting points for flights which is a definite positive IMHO.
