Hi there,

I used Hotelclub.com to book 4 rooms.
I found that getting onto online chat with agent got a better discount on top of already applying discount codes.
DISCOUNT code gets 10%.
Are there any programs that get a further discount on Hotelclub.com ie. CC, insurances, power company, telephone company?
Of course I used the best price guarantee to price match and get a cheaper price.
I did 3 booking in US(28 degrees) and 1 in AU(Signature card)
What is the best currency to book on hotelclub?

Regards

What discount code are you using, if you dont mind me asking?

My reading of the OP suggests the code is "DISCOUNT".

I prefer to collect the extra 10 bonus points per $ through Amex as bonus partner, although, if the discount was say 30% or so, I'd probably go for the discount.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There can be better rates booking with visa via this link

They won't allow you to use any coupons or cashback via start here however.

In my experience the visa site is generally cheaper, but if there's a good coupon then use that.

HotelClub always has promotions. They had one recently with 10%, 13% and 15% off. Another before that was 20% off.

RatesToGo was 20% off recently and I made a few 3-4 night bookings at a really good price. Then it dropped to 15% off and now it is 17% off again using EASTER17 for bookings through to end of May.

I don't take any notice of the 50%, 60% and 70% sales from online travel agents as rates are always the same.

And the Amex 10x bonus points is useless as I hardly ever spent the minimum spend on one stay and if I do I would rather have the $50 off or $100 off from Zuji or Expedia.

I joined HotelClub in about 2008 or so, and have put my card number on their booking website, have had cards expired, and been able to change the card numbers, but have never ever been offered a discount for such a thing as having a saved credit card info on their website offered to me.
Earning points in USD$ is also a bit of a pain, ...
As an aside: I now split my loyalty between Hotels.com too, and Agoda (not being on the ball, I didn't book Agoda via the Virgin website, went into Agoda.com/velocity-so as we all know, no points on that one for me).
