HOP (Melbourne Hilton On the Park) Rooms and general discussion

Back at HOTP - $195 rate.

Two bottles of water and standard upgrade to relaxation suite. Card signed by the business manager who I liaised with to agree the rate.

In a bit of shock as I am on the non-MCG side of the hotel. I have never been on that side of the hotel :shock: everything is different!

I prefer it - much quieter on that side

There's a non-MCG side? *gasp*

I've only ever had xx13 rooms (relaxation suites). 100% upgrade rate so far (unlike HSW).

I got a surprise on our last stay at HOTP as I just imagined the bathrooms would be the same design in all the relaxation suites, no matter what side of the hotel they were on.
Not sure which one I prefer as they each have pros and cons.

Same here Ewing - although I have had a few xx01 rooms too

I now prefer the xx14 bathrooms as I prefer the shower. But isn't it always better to turn left when boarding?

I wouldn't know!

I had 1313 on my last stay there. Fortunately I'm not superstitious! :mrgreen:

I haven't had 1313 but have had 1413, 1213, 513, 613 and 713...

My preferred room though is 1901 - short distance to lift and short distance (no lift journey) to Exec lounge.

Yep - the short journey is down the stairs as it is only one floor so I don't use the lift

Oh, you can use the stairs. Good to know.

I've been caught out too many times by internal doors being locked. More than once I've had to walk 20+ floors down to the ground floor after my decision to take a shortcut (and not take the lift) has worked against me

I was just across the hall in 613, with gardens and MCG view, should have knocked on your door and borrowed a cup of sugar. I always look down that side and wonder what goes in the purple garbage bins, can work out all the others but what gets recycled in the purple ones?

I often wonder how so much lint collects in my belly button...........and I reckon my tragic ponderings are more exciting than yours!

Please let us know when you work it out as I'm losing sleep over this now!

Purple bins are often used for Cytotoxic waste, given its close to an AFL venue maybe that's appropriate given all the recent news about peptides etc!
