Wow. Haven't yet checked but guessing that can also be booked on Qantas website?

I see that both HKG and PVG are on sale for $599 on the Qantas website (and cheaper elsewhere). Anyone know if you can book an open-jaw, i.e. SYD-HKG/PVG-SYD for $599?

Yes you can. As mentioned in my post, best to look up Qantas in the firstplace as its much easier to find a date where the prices are low. Let us know if you need a hand in finding them :)

Flightcentre would be a good option too. Print it off and take it in there. They should match it.

Yes you can. Through momondo, it gives you a quote for $558 return (Sydney-Hong Kong//Shanghai-Sydney). Print it off and take it into flight centre and they should match it.

The SYD-HKG flights available for ~$600 on Qantas website and I can use gift vouchers. Wish it wasn't so expensive trying to get to/from BKK.

Re: Hong Kong from $543 return with Qantas (April – October 2017) – sale ends in

Ended up booking BNE-HKG-MEL(stopover 23hr)-ADL for $603 using 4 vouchers bought under various AMEX offers. This cheap fare will allow me to squeeze meetings in MEL and ADL as well as HKG.

Was shocked to see that 4 months out almost all exit row seats (row 45) are taken. Pax really pay $90 extra for them?! Or maybe more P1/CLs on those flights...

Qantas let you do that with open jaw? I wanted to book SYD-HKG-BNE but then cannot use gift vouchers as it is multi-trip.

Still $598 for SYD-HKG return isn't too bad. Add on another $245 for EK HKG-BKK return and it's a much better experience to get to BKK with 747 and A380 rather than 9.5hr flight on A330.

Any multi-city booking you manage to price online you should be able to book over the phone using up to 4 vouchers. I've done that many times without fail.

They may charge you booking fee for that (waived for P1s) but you can always insist saying that you can't book using multiple vouchers online.

One of the conditions of the gift vouchers is not able to be used for multi-city bookings. Interesting that condition is overlooked.

It's overlooked probably because QF are interested to sell more gift vouchers. They get money from us in advance and we are locked into flying QF, win win for them. If they insist on the one-way or return only rule it will make vouchers much harder to use and reduce their value significantly.
