I'm at Hong Kong international airport.Just visited The Bridge,The Pier business lounge,Plaza Premium lounge and settled in the Qantas lounge for my remaining time. The Pier was cozy, nice food ,excellent clean showers ,next I checked out the Plaza Premium lounge - to think people were paying to go into this lounge was staggering, you really would be better spending your money in the food hall,to be fair I never went into one area I was to scarred by the first area.Horrible little food booths with matching food choice and very busy. The Bridge was good, busy, food lacked lustre.I'm writing this from the Qantas lounge, all I can say this knocked spots of the rest, attentive staff, bringing drinks to your table, lovely fresh bread, crisp salads, met a Qantas staff member called Paul who spent time chatting , making sure I was looked after, top marks to Qantas for employing such great staff. My personal choice as the out right winner goes to Qantas. So if your short on time cut to the chase and go straight to the Qantas lounge.

Nice review. Most people would go for Pier business lounge over the Qantas lounge.

My favourite is the Wing first lounge and Qantas lounge. I visit the Bridge occassionally and don't bother with the Wing and Pier business lounges.

FWIW the Emirates lounge is quite good if flying on an EK/QF flight.

Thanks for the kind words,I've just checked the departures screen my flight boarding gate has not yet been listed.Staff member stationed near the screen said he would come and find me and advise on the gate.Great service.

Thank you @Pagans for your review.
We will have 6 hours on Hong Kong in August. So maybe a bit of lounge hopping. We are flying on CX J on a Qantas award flight. Can we also use the Qantas lounge?

We used the Pier, Wing, Bridge & QANTAS lounges in the last 6 months, and each has their plusses. Pier was quiet, food good, and close to the departure gate for the next flight on that occasion. Arrived at the Wing as it opened, found a comfortable spot and we settled in for hours between flights. QF lounge was surprisingly quiet when we arrived even though we could see several QF planes on gates. Again the food was good, and the delicacies they brought around on trollies were a vice touch. So for me, if I have to settle in to any of these between flights (my next two have 4+hrs transit times) I will be happy. And while we used the Bridge in the same time period, it was busy and noisy, but was ok for a couple of hours, and was just 2 gates from next departure so decided not to do the trek to one of the others. Its a tough life, right?!

@Pagans , nice review.:)

Presumably you had Business class/Sapphire based access.

If that is the case, then for those with First/Emerald based access the situation can be different. Personally I rarely bother with the Qantas lounge since there are (for myself as being WP/Emerald) better options in the CX Wing/Pier First lounges.

I'd say yes as long as you are travelling business, first or club member and the airline you are travelling are part of One World. The clubs I visited required business ,can only dream of going into the 'Wing'. But would be interested in a more experienced member view on this.

Definitely CX Pier/Wing F lounges are the best IMO. Unfortunately I’m soon to drop back to SG so it’s back to the business lounges we go :(

Wonder if the trialling of paid entry to the Pier J lounge will have an affect and cause overcrowding?

The Pier is not in the most crowded area, and requires a concerted effort to reach which is why I assume they have selected it. The Wing & Deck being so close to the entry through security would be very different.

One does wonder if it’s a success will they branch out?
At the moment it’s what 5 or 6 lounges dotted around the globe?
At about $A70 a pop I would love to see the numbers that take advantage of it

I think you've got a good point, the paid lounge was horrendous.Heading back through Hong Kong on Sunday will check out the Pier again .Does any one have any recommendations for Heathrow Terminal 3 lounges?

I found the CX lounge excellent at LHR T3 a few weeks back.

Having also tried each of the Sapphire level lounges at HKG, my favourite is the QF lounge (as it is of my family). The staff always are great and recognise us even if there are several months between visits, and I have always enjoyed the food and drinks there.

When flying any OW airline through HKG now I head to the QF lounge. The CX lounges are of a great standard too, but I prefer the QF one.

I found the staff in Qantas lounge helpful one fella even came and found me and gave advice at a later point ,once he had the information. Another gave me a mini guided tour.My experience was good, but I suppose things may change at peek times. It was a little tricky to find.

Nice review.

Pier F is the only lounge I've ever been to. Never felt the need to go anywhere else! A bit of a hike but worth it.
