Hi all, I am making my first trip to Hong Kong next January as a stop over for 3 nights with my wife and 4 month old baby. I am after recommendations for transport to get to The Langham Kowloon and the Intercontinental Kowloon for the return trip . I've been thinking limo pick-up may be easiest. Any help is much appreciated.

cheers, Dmitri

The quickest way to Kowloon would be on the airport express and the just jump in a cab from Kowloon station to your hotel. 90hkd to Kowloon and maybe 25hkd to your hotel. Not quiet the fun of a limo though

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

cheers mate, seems cheap and easy

If you don't want to be concerned with carrying luggage, a taxi all the way from the airport might suit your needs. Around HKD350 or so for the journey IIRC by the time you include baggage and tolls. Not too far off the train + taxi option, but with one less transfer. I have no idea about HK taxis and carrying a baby.

You don't *have* to get a taxi from Kowloon station either:

I'm often surprised at how many people don't know about this, its part of your ticket on the Airport Express. I always use this service, sure you might wait a few mins for the next bus, and its not the most direct route either, but is a straightforward transfer.

Free shuttle bus service is available, taking passengers from Kowloon or Hong Kong stations to most major hotels and transport interchanges. Passengers can also enjoy free porter service at all Airport Express stations.

MTR > Privileges and Complimentary Services gives a list of the hotels that the bus connects to.
K3 Connects to the Intercontinental, and I'd be surprised if there wasn't one that went very closeby the Langham also.

I'd completely agree with SeatBackForward - I always use that service. However if the bus doesn't stop at the Langham, I'd think twice about it, with wife, baby and presumably luggage in tow, even if the bus stops at a 'nearby' hotel. HKG can be very hot & humid and the footpaths crowded and uneven.

Dmitri I'd e-mail the hotel and ask if the Airport Express/shuttle bus is suitable. But ask them for exact info about the shuttle bus - they will probably try to get you to use their airport limo service, (which mightn't be a bad idea, to get the holiday off to the right sort of start). :)

Edit: the shuttle bus routes / hotels stopped at do change from time to time, so also ask the hotel for the current routing- they should know.

I am a fan of the Airport Express and the connecting bus services. However the Langham Place is not one of the hotels currently served, according to the Airport Express website - see MTR > Privileges and Complimentary Services. This leaves the options of limousine or taxi direct from the airport, or taxi from Kowloon station. You are likely to find it is quicker as well as cheaper to take the train to Kowloon Station and take a taxi only for the last kilometre or two.

I second this suggestion. We did exactly this with the family in tow staying at Langham Place.

There are 2 Intercontinentals in Kowloon.

1 is called the Grand Stanford and it is on the bus route K3 from the Airport Express Kowloon Station.

AFAIK the other one is not on an Airport Express bus route, even though it seems to be a fancier hotel than the Grand Stanford. Maybe it runs its own airport shuttles.
