HKG and Singapore One Night Stands

Hey all,

I am flying to MNL via SIN and HKG with overnights at both connections. I have been to singa a few times and have somewhat of a plan of what i am going to do (eat).

I have not been outside the CX lounge when in HKG.

Any recommendations for both locations for a 20 hour jaunt? And particularly in HKG, the best place to stay to maximise my time?

What days of the week? For a weekend (fri/sat/sun) for HK I'd be on Hong Kong island - somewhere like Central or Wan Chai (the latter being quite reasonably priced).
