Just popped up on Ozbargin:

15% off Hilton Hotel Gift Vouchers - for Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji - OzBargain

The festive season is almost here, and Hilton Gift Vouchers make the perfect present for the holidays. And through this special offer, you can purchase discounted Hilton Gift Vouchers - up to 15% off! Simply complete your Gift Voucher purchase online through this website. Select a custom package, or simply purchase a dollar value that can be redeemed at the hotel of your choice. But hurry – these discounted Gift Voucher deals are only available for a limited time at participating Hilton hotels in Australasia.
Gift vouchers will be issued once payment is processed and approved. All orders must be received at least 5 business days prior to the Check-In, to ensure acceptance of the credit card to be charged. Credit Card payments incur a merchant service fee of 1.5% in addition to the total amount payable. Additional postage fees may also apply.
Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Reservations can be made via phone. Please note that redemption of vouchers is subject to availability, non-coughulative, non-refundable, non-transferable, and will not be re-issued.

Not bad - the rates appear to be at the same rate as the "any Weekend Sale" (at least in Brisbane) but are "Flexible" - i.e. they can be cancelled up to 4pm day of arrival.

One further consideration:
HILTON HOTELS AUSTRALASIA Mates Rates offer
Guests who participate in the HILTON HOTELS AUSTRALASIA Mates Rates offer and are paying for a HILTON HOTELS AUSTRALASIA Mates Rates offer rate will not earn Hilton Honors points or airline miles for the HILTON HOTELS AUSTRALASIA Mates Rates offer rate itself, but may earn points on their eligible incidentals. Guests can earn Hilton Honors points when paying any other qualifying rate.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I have a $199 / night booking for the HSW coming up for the AFF Xmas do. If I buy a $200 voucher for $180, I presume I can use this $200 voucher as payment, hence saving $19 on my nightly rate?

Extremely confusing.

You buy a voucher to pay for the room and then not receive points or stay credits?

And only appears to work on the expensive room rates anyway.
