So who has used the Hilton digital key?

I have a stay tomorrow night where I can try it for the first time and I was wondering about problems, risks etc.

Any feedback, good or bad?

Used it many times in the US.
No issues I have come across.
Still get a plastic room key/card anyway

Used it in Hawaii. A bit slow and you could end up holding up others in a lift.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a try, but with the plastic backup!

Great until your phone goes flat?

Some of us remember to charge it Penegal! ;)

Have loaded the digital key, but haven't used it as of yet ... I haven't got past the 15th floor whisky bar!

I used it once and it was fine but I stopped as by bypassing the desk check in l thought it hindered chances of an upgrade.

I haven’t used and am unlikely to, but did not realise you still get the usual keycard. If so, it’s s slightly more attractive option. Personally I prefer cards and try to avoid adding more life basics/essentials to my phone.

It's part of the HH app. Once registered you just open the app and tap the digital key button. Brings up a green button that says open door. Hit that and the door unlocks. You have to have bluetooth on.

Thanks. Card still sounds easier to me. Though they fail too.
Presume the digital key will get you into a lounge or other restricted area?

Yes. Lounge, elevators etc. The think I did find annoying is the time the app takes to open. Never noticed it before, but that minor delay is a PITA when you're waiting! It would be far worse in an elevator.

Only used it a few times (not any more). As other have said, the real delay is in the lift. You can go past your floor before it operates so a plastic key is preferable.
Sort of negates the promoted convenience of missing the front desk altogether. If you do bypass the desk, you can also miss any upgrades.

I have used it a few times, generally with sucess. You do need to be patient with it.

Last (non) use was at LAX Hilton - I had used OLCI and soon after the BlueTooth key was available on the App showing the room number.

Some hours later I arrived and went strait to the room - it would not work. After 10 frustrating minutes I went down to reception and queried it. They had moved my room. This was not reflected on the app.
