I have been a lurker for some time, have used some of the offered advice(thank you all very much) and as of today have received, for our return journey, our Qantas e ticket and receipt for our QFF rewards J flight SFO - LAX LAX - SYD for sept with AA. First time in USA and obviously first time in LAX and first time in J.
Some questions if I may: armed with J boarding pass and only NB(mrs P is QP ) can we access oneworld lounge in TBIT and would we have sufficient time ,,arrive LAX 1727 depart on AA73 at 2305.
Based on your advise we started collecting points in dec16 from cr card bonuses and had a number of quick big(for us) spends,, what an amazingly cheap way to fly in comfort. Thanks AFF

Yes you will be able to use the oneworld lounge. And as the T4-TBIT connector is airside you will be able to walk there after you arrive from SFO without having to clear security. You will have heaps of time to do so.
