A family member has received an email saying their points will expire next month. There is a few thousand there, but not enough to transfer. I'm not planning on flying anytime soon.

Does anyone have any suggestions around how to earn some QFF points quickly so they don't expire? Thanks in advance.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Another option is for you to transfer the minimum to their account and then transfer the lot back to yourself

Wine ordered from Epiqure - points post almost immediately. Woolworths used to be the preferred rout but now only transfer points every couple of months or so, so timing won't be in your favour.

The QFF site says:

"Points that are transferred to a family member will be subject to the points expiry date that currently applies to the receiving family member's Qantas Frequent Flyer account. If the family member receiving the points has been inactive for an extended period, it is possible for the transferred points to expire at the end of the calendar month in which the transfer is made."

It's a gamble, but seems to be possible.

If you move the points to your account, they will take on your expiry. But if you move points to their account, they will still expire.

Lets say Alice has 3000 points. Bob moves 2000 points to Alice, so she now has 5000 points. Then Alice transfers transfers the entire 5000 points back to Bob. Can that be done?

Bob needs to move 5000 points to Alice, then move 8000 points back.

Woolworths has also now got a minimum requirement that you or the person to which the transfer of WWR points to go to QFF, needs a minimum of 2,000 WWR, so meaning even if you do have some points, (less than 2,000 WWR) it won't work as you need more WWR points.
I feel that WWR has gone downhill in this regard.
The old way of EDR (now dead) was a very good way to keep QFF account alive.
Looks like transferring points or epicure is the only cheap way now to keep QFF accounts alive.

I don't think so, but you may want to cut someone some slack on their first postings.

Welcome to activity simonj :)

Make an account with Qudos bank and setup a qantas points savings account, deposit $100 and never worry again.

what about Ted and carol?
