Have I just had my status comped ?

I have been running my re-qualification for QP down to the wire (exp May 31) and I am currently at 1180 status credits. Following my last flight this week that took me to this level i have noticed that my account now shows the following even though i have not yet reached the 1200 point threshold. My FF card in the QF app is also showing i am Platinum and the card expiry date is May 2020.

Does this mean that i have been comped status ?

I have a Status Bonus pending in my account that i have not yet used and i am wondering if they have factored this in and expect me to redeem it for the 50 status credits that would take me over the 1200 point level.
I would prefer not to use the status bonus this year if do not have to , but i also obviously do not want to drop back to Gold after May 31 because i was 20 points under the 1200 point level. Has anyone else had this happen ?

I will probably not re-qualify for QP next year and would rather keep any possible status comps for then. Would it best in this instance to use the status bonus now just to say that I qualified this year normally ?

I’m reasonably sure the 50SC won’t count to requal anyway. Only to total status credits over your lifetime. I’d be looking for a cheap 20, I were you.
 
I have had my status continued when I have just been a few status credits short of retaining it. You are near the end of your membership year so it certainly looks like it.

Was the comp in the last 12 months or so? Going back, it seemed to be that the average over the previous 3 years was a big factor. Seems no longer to be the case?

I would've expected a comp this year on the 3-year average, but it didn't happen. Had to re-qualify, with the help of DSC. :)

+1 to Blackcat - it certainly does count.

I would absolutely use it. You have to use it within 90 days of earning it, and in your case, the SC would be much better than the points. If you are not expecting to requalify WP next year (and the 50 SC is not enough to make a difference next year), then it would be "wasted" to defer it to next year - may as well guarantee it for this year.

It will still count to lifetime whether used this year or next. If you won't make WP next year, there is no point "keeping" it to contribute to making it to SG next year, when the alternative is to ensure WP now, then soft land to SG the year after anyway.

Why - oh why - must QFF constantly stuff-up perfectly good functionality??

Yes, have been trying various browsers, same tired message. Emailed [email protected] last night, as not wanting to phone the Call Centre unless as a last resort.

Thanks for the heads up on loyalty bonus issue, i wasn't aware of this and would have left it to the last minute to try and redeem which may have been a problem in my circumstance.

No it was not in the last 12 months - it was about 3 years ago

"In the interests of science" I used the Chat function after taking that screenshot. The CSE was able to add the missing 50SCs after accessing my account and said they'd appear "within the next 24 hrs" - 4 hrs later I can see they are credited.

I've experienced similar with just trying to "Manage Bookings". Clearing cookies seemed to help, but only very temporarily

I just tried to redeem the loyalty bonus and found the same issue. I will take your advice and try and use the chat function to get the 50 SC credited.

I hope they think highly of me again next year as i am pretty sure i wont get the SC's to re-qualify for QP. I bit the bullet and used my current loyalty bonus to get me to 1230 this year. This would mean that i have meet the requal level for 14 years straight.

I was also trying desperately to redeem the bonus and was getting the error message. I then had problems even getting into my account ( could not get the login box at all) so I tried to log into my account using the US web page. Surprisingly (or co-incidentally) i got straight into my account , pushed the redeem now button and it went through straight away.
I struggle to understand the Qantas IT system sometimes

Thanks for the link to your experience from last year. It gives me some hope that i may get a comp next year given the number of years that i have met the requal criteria , even if only just sometimes
