I was fully expecting to be dropped back to PS after 2 years at SG, but falling significantly short of 600 SCs this membership year which ended yesterday, Nov 30. However to day the re assessment date has been changed to 30/11/2015, I am still listed as SG and the counter says "you need 600 SCs to keep Gold" I have had no correspondence or emails from QF at all regarding status retention, "please outline your travel plans" etc.
Is this a case of the IT taking time to allow for late posting SCs before dropping me back, or should I tell my wife we might be getting lounge access after all on our upcoming Europe trip?

If the reassessment date has changed then yes, I would suggest a comp.

Exactly the same situation for me actually. I just assumed it is an error and will correct itself in a day or two.

Will post an update in a few days whether it has stuck or not.

I am in the opposite camp.Got a new PS card from QFF saying they have given me PS status even though I looked like falling short this year(I also end on 30/11).However a week before they sent the card I had requalified-courtesy of the last of the JASAs.Wont do it next year.

Received my comp to platinum today despite falling 400 or so SC's short. Absolutely delighted as I'll be sneaking some more glorious visits to the first lounge!

I don't check my mail often but noticed Qantas had sent out a pack in October with plat card when I hadn't requaled (anniversary end of October). I ended up requaling anyway but hadn't booked the flights that did it at that stage.

Well that didn't last long. I thought Qantas was tightening up on handing out complimentary status.

I'm still dubious about this sticking for me. I'll believe it when a shiny new gold card arrives in the mail.

A review date in 2015 indicates how long your current status will last - if you havn't been comped it will still state November 2014.

As serfty mentions I think you are fine. Take a snapshot of your summary page just in case.

I knew it was too good to be true. Logged in today and down to a lowly PS. Not surprised.

In the end, this will cost QF revenue though. Still SG with Virgin from the earlier status match. So will make use of Virgin for domestic flights for lounge access while it lasts.

It eems the recent web site revamp may have introduced some issues.

If status is likely to drop down it does not normally happen until a few days into your new "year" - presumable to give a chance for late SC's to post.

In that situation it used to be that the review date would still show the previous year if a downgrade was imminent - going by that this is no longer the case.

These been a similar report on FT.

.

+1 for me :( I wish they had done it on Dec 1st rather than give out false hopes, particularly based on their previous policies.
Will probably regain SG by Sept, but not in time for the Europe trip.

I found out as they sent out a new card before the end of my FF year.As I said my requalifying flight posted a few days before they sent out the new card.

I agree, thought I had WP for another year and was arranging flights in my mind so I could access the Flounge, so it was a bit of a let-down to see my status drop to SG today :(

Scott.

That's a shame. A simple bug got everyone excited.

Obviously Qantas subscribes to the same theory subscribed by my company.

Don't waste time and resources on UAT when you can test it just as easily in production!

Wait...we don't work for the same company do we? :)
