Has Velocity ever had Double SC offers?

Reading the QFF forums, I know there have been DSC promos on QF.

I know that VFF people recently had the chance to earn SC on reward bookings. But has there ever been a VA DSC promo? Is it likely?

It would be awesome for me (wishful thinking I know!) if it happened Jan/Feb 2014. With my travel plans for then, I mightn't need DSC but I'll take it if offered!

Yep. VA (for me anway) has a a habit of randomly positing a 20-50 SC bonus once a year or so as well. Never had that from QF (though others may have).

You mean, out of the blue, for no particular reason? Is this wide spread or dependent on a status level? It would come in real handy right now as I need another 35 for gold...

Don't count on it. I've never had such a thing and I've been with Velocity since 2006 and held some form of status with them since about 2009 (I think). VA have some very odd ways of showing appreciation which at times cannot immediately be fathomed (if ever). None of my family members have received the magical, mystery SCs either.

I am about to book 5 x MEL-LAX flights from now till xmas. It will be announced the day after i make the bookings ..... so those of you waiting it should be next tuesday after i book them monday ( happened twice to me on QF )

I wouldn't count on it either. They never came when I needed them, but it was a nice treat. Even though I had points pending (that were lost in the system at Sabre transition) VA upped me to Gold 20SCs short. That's probably more likely than mystery SCs. 35 probably a little too much though. Haven't had any more treats since getting status. Who can tell how these things work?

My recollection is you had to book and fly within the promotion window on the previous offer - so anything you have already booked wouldn't be eligible (assuming any future such promotion worked the same way).

Which, if I remember correctly, was pretty much across the board. Need them........no offer, don't need them and they magically appeared. A cynic (certainly not me ) may suggest it was a very targeted PR campaign. Targeted to all those who had no use for them.

For me, the best VA promos have been the ones where they stuffed up! I might also add a line of humility here and agree that VA were outstanding in honouring their stuff-ups.

Thanks for taking one for the team. It happened to me last year, though it was about 5 days after I made my booking.
