Has QF introduced new "improvements" in seat allocations???

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone else noticed that even up until T20 the seat allocation seems to have an issue or is it just me? I'm on flight QF443 tomorrow and checking my seat selections I have nothing available before row 27 -

As a WP I'd usually have 25/26 open and 23/24 by T20. I assumed it was a busy flight until I checked EF and reviewed the current allocations. On EF it shows a bndle of seats blocked but not taken???

Whats the go!!!! Have WP had the famous " improvement " in seat allocations?

Only had very good auto seating lately, 16A on 747 and 12A on A380

I couldn't choose 23 AB HK today online however onboard the rows were empty. I moved forward as 24K has no window but it left me wondering.

Occasionally I notice that I am unable to move out of row 6 on a 737 or row 25 on a 767 until very late in the piece if at all. These are mainly BNE-SYD flights on a Friday afternoon and I am guessing there are lots of high status FFers on board and flights are usually full anyway. The SYD-BNE flights on a Sunday evening are mainly OK and generally have vacant middle seats up the front.

So 10 flights since I started this thread and the anomaly of my WP seat selection still has me puzzled. I have flight qf575 syd to Perth tomorrow and cannot select seats in rows23,24,25,26. Checking on EF and there is aisle seats available in Rows 24 and 25 just not available for me to select on my booking.

Considering it's less than 12 hours till the flight I'm very confused..... On some flights I seem to have no WP seat entitlements and on others I have access to rows 23-24 on booking?

Am I truly alone on this ?

No. The same happens with me as I posted earlier.

On yesterday evenings SYD-BNE flight I was seq #5 and could not get out of 25J. It appeared that 24DEF, 23JK were all from one company and I suspect the person in 24D was a Platinum or Chairmans Lounge and had 4 female employees with him.

I was in 25J and 25K was vacant. I would rather have a vacant seat next to me in row 25 than have someone next to me in row 23.

Not really; about 18 months after I stopped earning most of my SC's on QF, my rating (PCV) seems to have dropped and often see similar to you.

Don't give up, keep checking. I also use E/F seat alerts. Thos PAX with higher PCV tend to travel on more flexible fares and often change flights or upgrade - on or three of those seats may become available eventually.

The closest I had, I was in the MEL J lounge and about 70 minutes before a flight 4C on a 73H became available. Although already checked in I changed from my row 6 to that seat and then to the service desk where they printed a new BP for me.
