We have only been involved with the above for 6 months.
Got our woolies card - they signed us up to QFF - we've been collecting points at Woolies and BWS ever since.
No hassle convenient and we buy what we would have anyway.

Qantas have kept our accounts up to date and given us all our points and bonuses for travel late last year - again no hassles.

Amex have provided top service with alert emails and reminders good bonuses upon starting up with their card (Qantas Ultimate Credit card)
We recently had a false transaction and they alerted us and had put it on hold awaiting confirmation - so we have not lost a penny, account not compromised and they went out of way to protect us from fraud ( and of course themselves) Not only are we grateful but we are very impressed. Amex have our endorsement.

We have over 48000 points in 6 months so for very light travellers - once in those 6 months - we are very happy as we havent had to do anything really special to get to that number - thus our planned 2011 overseas trip hopefully will have close to 200K points to be used and may get further than we could afford without FF points.

Sometimes companies and schemes are viewed critically - I just reckon when you get good service you need to acknowledge that too and we have received great service and have not really had to change anything but a credit card brand and get a free card from our local Woolies.

When points are earned as part of everyday spending I have no issues.
But I know silly people will drive an extra 20 mins to earn 10 points.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for your review. Its good to hear what works for others. Complaints can be useful to warn others what choices not to make but it is positive reviews that help us to decide what choices they should make.

Have to agree with you WWTFC.
We have been QFF/woollies/visa-amex users for 12 and 6 mths each respectively. With our normal monthly CC spend and taking advantage of any bonus pts. etc which happened our way (buying a car, trip to LA etc) basically doing things we were going to do anyway last year, now up to about 120,000 pts.

So its been easy going for us and now have enough pts for a trip away somewhere.
Might even pay for next one ourselves and build up a few more, as long as there is no expiry date.

For us its a great scheme, doing nothing too much out of the ordinary and looking forward to a reward of our choosing in the not too distant future

We too are going o/seas later this year and banking those points so that 2011 can be better and we wouldnt get much with our current number of points.
But like you we have found it to be just an extra bonus to what we were doing anyway and have had great service so has been very easy and positive. Plus 2 signed up to FF saving us $165 coutesy of woolies. Got to be happy.

Have you thought about where you want to go with you points. If overseas and your dates are very specific then you might want to get you skates on as there ain't too many seats out there and they don't last long. I pleased you are making the most of the scheme I just hope you are not too disappointed when it's time to cash in.

I agree with this post, its good to see the earning points scheme work. But in terms of redemption, the rule generally is the earlier in advance you book, the likelihood of getting your seat. And based on your earn, you might be pushing 200K sometime in early to mid 2011 - the year you wish to fly - and thus timing/availability starts getting a bit tight esp. in the international QF premium cabins.

[Kind of off topic - but this is where the majority of frequent flyer program complaints come in eg. like I've got a zillion million points but can't get the flights I want.]

Thanks for the heads up on using points and bookings - much appreciated
