Hi all,

Just checked my velocity account and this months NAB points for my velocity rewards premium cards had transferred across. Strange thing was I received the points twice! I.e. 2x Amex and 2x visa points. On my NAB statement it obviously just has the balance for 1 of each. Has this happened to anyone else and are they likely to pick it up/take the points off me? Wish I had spent bigger this month haha.

Cheers,

David

If just you then no one will notice.

If they've done that to 100,000 customers then they'll be reversed in due course.

So what if I were to do a family transfer of all my points to my wife's account and keep them stored there.. I haven't used any of my 4 transfers for the year and I have just under 400,000. Lol.

Possibly go into negative, no harm in trying a transfer.

Hm if I do the transfers and then setup points pooling onto her. If it does go into negative theoretically I won't ever pay it back as all my future points will go straight into her account and never drop into mine. ;) may as well give this a shot haha. Anyone actually had this happen to them before?

Was there a bonus? I don't have a NAB card but some of my other cards post twice as bonus points are posted separately to 'normal' points

Lol probably. Oh well if I was to lose some points that I didn't earn, not the end of the world.

I had the sign up bonus posted twice, one to my Citi Rewards and the other to Qantas. Originally applied for the Qantas Signature and changed to Citi Rewards a few weeks later. Both set of points posted a few weeks later. Not complaining.

Update: just checked my velocity account, had the points posted twice as per davidhes.

Looks like it'll be a few people then. Chances are they will try to reverse them. To transfer them out of my account or not..

Did you receive a bonus points offer by any chance? I received a triple points offer in Jan for 2 months spend which would post as additional points after the 2 months. Also know of a couple of others who received double points offer.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Not that I'm aware of? Oh well, will just wait and see if they get taken back or not. :) fingers crossed they don't.

Same thing here i'm sure it's a glitch and they will fix it.

Paranoia aside I would say that Qantas and possibly Virgin have built up a profile of the regular posters on AFF and can cross reference these with their memberships. Also if you have ever had any dealings with the company reps they would also know who you are.

Well probably with those who's handle give a hint to their name, not so sure of the others. I do think there's a hint of paranoia in this, not that I don't think this does happen from time to time. I just think that while QF/VA will certainly periodically look at AFF, they probably are not as interested in what we think as some think they should be to be building up a detailed profile. They have enough of that from your account history IMO for most of what they want.

Never saw this until now, but just logged on to find a points reversal after being credited twice.

You recently earned Velocity Points with one or more of our partners.

Unfortunately, there was a technical issue with our files, which resulted in more Velocity Points being added to your account than you should have received. These are in the process of being reversed from your account. We are working to ensure that we get the correct number of Velocity Points added to your account as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Seemingly Citi have had the exact opposite problem, with no points being posted for a few members with Virgin Money cards (myself included).

I've been told that everything will be sorted out by April 8th.
