I understand that there is a different section to post guest invites into lounges but i am wondering what the criteria is for doing so ?
If i am flying on QF points in F and am on BA metal can i guest PAX from other flights into the F lounge or do they have to be on the same flight as myself ?
And if i am on a connecting flight and already have a boarding pass and therefore not checking in at SYD , how would you spot someone that is on the same flight ?
Confusing for me ...... simple for you guys i suppose !

Thanks in anticipation .

Hi paul_d

If you were looking for someone to guest... I'd suggest heading to the appropriate Gate for the flight and look around there.

They DO have to be on the same flight number as yourself.

I did it last year in SYD when my flight to BKK was delayed by 3 hours. I found a really nice family sitting there and brought them up to the F lounge.

Boss.

Thanks Bossreggie ,

Makes sense , i may just do that as i am on BA 16 in F on my own and will have plenty of time after arriving from MEL at 11.30 am and BA 16 leaving at 3.45 pm.
Any comments about the new F on BA would be welcome ,
Cheers .

I think there are some other threads around the forum on this one, but to quickly go OT I really like BA's New F. It's a modern upgrade to an old aircraft so don't expect A380 suite standards, but the interior is well designed, AVOD screens are large and adjust well for both lying and sitting angles, LED lighting and electric window shades are nice touches. It's actually my favourite F config when flying with a group of people.

I gotta be honest, I think i'd feel a bit strange going up to someone I didn't know and being like "hey, uh, so, do you want to come to the airline lounge with me?"

I'd love to be on the receiving end of that, but thats because i'm an avgeek.

BA16 flies via Singapore and the BA website suggests that the new First is not yet available on the Singapore route. Do you know something new? I have an interest as I'm flying BA16 F in August and am hoping the new F will be on that route by then.

I've tried to do that at LAX. I got quite a few interesting looks before I actually found someone who wanted to go to the lounge, as it turns out he'd left his GF downstairs who wasn't too impressed when he told her where he was. Needless to say he quickly disappeared downstairs lest face the wrath of the GF for the next 13 odd hours.
Given the effort I went to to guest someone in, it wasn't worth it to try again, and I probably won't bother going to the effort of guesting in a stranger at an airport (unless prearranged here on AFF)

I have almost given up looking for people to guest into lounges as some of them make you feel bad for asking.

It is not like I want anything in return but if someone is outside lounge and looks like they want to be guested I am willing to assist.

sorry, but can either of you guys explain how that works? clearly i am missing something....

Bossreggie can guest 28 people into the F lounge, fly them over to Noma for lunch and have them back in time for boarding.

Thank God Boss can't do that.

There will be over 20 of us on our flight to the UK for the Olympics though. This will be the largest group I have ever had in the F lounge.

14 of us are in F at least 4 are WP1 and a further 8 are WP. Also, there are no pax in Y, so we are not abusing the guesting rules at all.

We have pre-booked the restaurant and trust me, Myself and +1 have first dibs on the spa treatments.
(Given that Myself and +1 have "treated" all our guests, no-one had a problem with this)

But QF doesn't even fly to CPH... :p

Reminds me of a scene near the start of Inception where they had to get to their target and decided a long-haul flight in F was the best opportunity. One of the guys said, we'd have to buy all the F seats as well as the crew. The 'sponsor' said, I just bought the entire airline, it seemed easier... :)

OK then...

Take a look at this site - British Airways route overview - FT Dashboard

One of the lines of information provided is the % of NF on all BA routes......BA15/16 is currently running at 40%:(

I found BA NF to be pretty good however, I've just done QF A388 F.....wow, no comparison! IMO the only thing that BA 747 NF has over the A388 is the feeling that sitting in the nose provides:cool: Nothing in front of row 1 is bliss!

BA have two types of cabin fit-out for their 747 fleet - Hi-J (70 CW) & Mid-J (52 CW) All Hi-J birds have been fitted with NF - unfortunately, only a handful of the Mid-J.....and the consensus is that no more money will be spent on these.

Unless Hi-J is committed to the route the chances of NF are low.

Keep a track on the BAEC board of FT.

Another option is splitting your journey at SIN and jumping on BA12 (stopover req) as this route is serviced by HI-J birds:!:
