We lived around 1 to 2km from Ronnie in MEL back in the day (it must be stated I was very young at the time ).

My father was a train driver. I am mindful not to glorify or romanticize Ronald Biggs' exploits. He/ his gang did kill during the robbery, didn't they? If not, they probably left some very traumatised people.

No one died during the robbery but the train driver was coshed, later died of leukemia which his family blamed on the robbery.

His ex-wife and their two surviving children still live in MEL.
