Hi all!

I'm a big fan of food and travel. I loved Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations and Gail's Culinary Adventure (the little webseries Gail Simmons did while filming Top Chef). But I need more!

I'm heading to Europe for a few months soon (Berlin/Copenhagen/Amsterdam/London/Edinburgh/Barcelona/Paris/Vienna/Venice/Florence/Rome) and would LOVE to indulge in some documentary series about food and travel to get me excited. Particularly if it touches on the above destinations. Particularly if it's from the last few years (the food scene changes quickly!), so if I see somewhere I like, I can actually go there!

Blogs welcome too!

Thanks fellow foodies :D

I'm also a big fan of Anthony Bourdain. But as for a new recommendation, have not seen much lately. Although Luke Nguyens "France" series on SBS was quite good. Also Silvia Colloca's "Made in Italy" series was great also.

When I'm in a new city, I always try to do a food tour. I've done them in London, which was excellent and also Paris (excellent too) and Rome. Mostly only a half day, but so much fun. See 3 or 4 restaurants, have some nibbles, and a glass of wine or 3. Meet some great people. Happily give you recommandations for the ones I've done.

Adam Liaw's Destination Flavour shows are a must watch. And from following him on Instagram he spends a lot of time in the Sydney FLounge.

Thanks everyone - this is great!

Brilliant idea! I'd love to hear your recommendations - thanks Boca68!

Great idea, for recent info may be worth looking at a few blogs too. Here are some Parisian ones to help out.

One of my favourites that I don't see mentioned very often is Italy unpacked by Giorgio Locatelli and Andrew Graham-dixon. It's both food and art and there are 2 series. The ragu alla bolognese recipe from that has become a regular

Sure, in Paris, I did a tour of the Latin Quarter with Food Tours of Paris and Beyond - Culinary Tours of Paris Very very good. There is a little bit of walking and also a bit of history as well. The guy who runs it, John Paul is great and his partner Julie. (he is actually American, but french heritage, she is french) They do others as well, as you'll see. Just noticed, actually, that he has added a countryside tour which looks great. Another reason to go back to Paris :)

In London, I did one with Eating London Tours - Food & Walking tours in London in the east end, which was brilliant. Went to St John Bread & Wine near Spittalfields Market, THE best bacon sandwich ever! And the Androuet cheese shop was to die for. Throughly recommended.

In Rome I also did with the same company, but called Eating Italy - Walking Food Rome Tours & Classes in Rome Whilst it was very good, the company on that day was not so fun. Just bad luck, had a family of 4 , children in early 20's, who decided this would be the time to air their differences.

Overall, John Paul's is the one I'd recommend the most. He went as far as helping me and the others with other things to do about Paris, that you might not find on your own.
