I'm looking for a hotel in Osaka. There is the Nikko at the airport but can anyone recommend one in the middle of Osaka within walking distance to shopping/restaurants and a railway station (JR rail)? A good breakfast service is nice too.

Ta,

R.

I stayed at the Hilton back in January; it's a 5 minute walk from the Main Railway station. (Underground walkway/shopping mall available)

Breakfast was fine.

Stayed at Westin 2 yrs ago. Decor is dated but the hotel is clean and comfy. Service good and efficient in the usual Japanese way but can be a little OTT - they seem to try too hard to create the feel of an European hotel. They have Elle Bache bath amenities :D but not sure whether these were only for suites/club rooms or for all rooms.

They have a free 10 minute shuttle to the train station with big department stores and underground shopping mall (totally overrated IMO but needs to be done once).

The hotel itself is part of the Umeda Sky complex with lots of restaurants in the basement, and a good food court. Has nice 360 degree views of Osaka at the top.

Another vote for the Hilton.Handy to the railway(not the Shinkansen though),A lot of shopping and restaurants nearby.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I like the New Otani near the castle. Lots of rooms have views of the castle, there is a good mall with restaurants very close by and the train station is right near it.

Cheers
