Hi all,

I have previously read about lounge access as a SG, I thought you could bring a guest in with you if they were on the same flight etc. However, reading the qantas website today it makes no mention of it - was I mistaken and you can't bring a guest in (travelling in Y, domestic or Int)? Or has the ability to guest someone in been removed?

Many thanks.

I can't post links but this is the only text from the 'In the Lounge' tab;

[h=3]Complimentary membership of The Qantas Club[/h]Relax or catch up on work in any Qantas Club, including International Business and Qantas Club domestic lounges. Plus access associated lounges or oneworld airline lounges around the world when flying on Qantas, Jetstar or a oneworld[SUP]®[/SUP] alliance airline§.

The ability to bring a guest is a feature of Qantas Club membership, which you have as SG, so yes you can. They don't need to be travelling at all for domestic, they do need to be travelling with you on the same flight for International.

This is what you're after... This is for the Sydney T3 QC. If you look under Airport Lounges | Qantas you'll find all of the Qantas lounges and their individual access rules.

Just to round this out for anyone else who has a similar question it is also worthwhile remembering that children are excluded from the one guest limit as per the below extract from the lounge eligibility and access section of the QF website. Lounge access for children to One World and BA lounges varies and details are also provided in that section

[h=2]Families[/h] Qantas Lounges welcome you when travelling together with your family. In addition to your normal guest allowance you may also bring up to two children, between ages 4 and 17, into lounges operated by Qantas. Children aged 3 years or under are not counted as guests for the purpose of determining the number of guests of the member. If you are travelling with more than two children, the Qantas lounge manager will try to accommodate them, subject to reviewing the space available in the lounge.

Interesting, the rules used to say the guest needs to be travelling for SG and below... many places don't even scan the BP or card anyway..

No, only states that the person with status needs to be travelling. Not in the domestic lounges anyway.
