Hi Sorry if this has been covered,Received gold through AMEX platinum,couldnt find any info on the Hilton website about upgrades,Do they just upgrade Diamond or do Golds get free upgrades also or is it random. Thanks in advance.

All upgrades are random. As a non-HH member I can recall getting an upgrade and now as a diamond member I do expect an upgrade. The terms say upgrades are granted on a space available basis, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will receive them, even when space is available, but I think it is fair to say that generally speaking, upgrades for gold can be expected at most hotels. An upgrade, BTW, may only consist of better toiletries or a slightly higher floor so it is very much variable.

Your best bet in understanding what you can expect is to start with the HH Member Benefits page and then use the search function of this web site for discussions on each benefit, as most has been discussed at length here previously.

That is correct the Platinum Edge does not give you Gold. Need Platinum Charge.

As a Gold member I have generally been upgraded to Executive rooms with lounge access. Haven't been lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite yet :-|
