Gifting points from family members who don't live at the same address

Family xfer's fine. Family pooling - they nee to be at the same address.

With the latter, don't be switching in and out - I know of more than one WP who has had their Velocity account cancelled (for, it seems, "overdoing the switching") within the last half year or so.

What do you mean by switching out? You can change family pooling four times per year, do you mean changing who is pooling to you?

Changing "too much" ... whatever that means.

The 4 times rule is a relatively recent variance.

Aside from that, some have been asked "for more information" in relation to those "living at the same address" - and that was since the introduction of the 4 times rule.

well I change it all the time so i'm screwed

Was the cancellation due to the member improperly abusing the family pooling feature by including relatives that's not living in the same address? In my case I have 2 family members who live with me and I do switch who is pooled from as only 1 account can be pooled into me, so I switch depends on who is flying at the time, surely that's within the rules?

Re: Pooling v Transferring

My wife, 2 kids and I all pool in various configurations (mostly them to me, occasionally me to her) and have had no problem as we're all at one address.

My brother and my mother in law have both been beneficiaries (at different times) of my partner gold/ platinum and have transferred points to me (in exchange for booking flights for them usually). They live at different addresses but are clearly family under the definition. Again, i've never had a problem.

Both circumstances are clearly within the letter and spirit of the rules.

If I was to try and pool status credits from them (or anyone else) by changing around addresses i'd expect to have a problem.
